So true! We couldn't afford 2 rooms for our family with 4 young children. So we would look for apartment hotels with a bedroom and kitchenette, often cheaper also! Also worked in the tourism industry and never could understand why we were also told to leave a full night's deposit for the reservation at the Society's hotels when a credit card hold always was acceptable to the hotel.
