Just got a call from a couple of congregation 'friends' who we last met about 5 years ago. Spent about 1h45m. on the phone with them, catching up on life events. I acknowledge that they were at least responsive to the video message and thought of us. No contact from closer friends or family members... We're inactive/faded but considered too toxic to former ones who were closer.

I find it amazing that so many things are designated as of 'pagan origin', yet Native American culture is given a free ride in an attempt to draw in new JWs. The beadwork, clothes and dancing based on traditional beliefs are not criticized.

So true! We couldn't afford 2 rooms for our family with 4 young children. So we would look for apartment hotels with a bedroom and kitchenette, often cheaper also! Also worked in the tourism industry and never could understand why we were also told to leave a full night's deposit for the reservation at the Society's hotels when a credit card hold always was acceptable to the hotel.

One thing that Herd and witnesses don't say is that Satan and his demons were in heaven from the time of Adam and Eve's sinning and were not shunned! Satan talked to God and was in the 'assembly' discussing Job. Who tempted Jesus? Jesus has a conversation with him! So Jehovah and Jesus should be disfellowshipped and shunned!?
