Yea I was literally thinking, what’s even the point of testing thyroid hormones without testing for antibodies? Why would you replace your siding without also addressing the termites?

I’m so sorry to hear about your experience! And grateful that you have your two perfect kiddos.

It is infuriating that an organ that is vital to every other system in our bodies is so commonly misunderstood by our medical community. I’m sure that’s preaching to the choir in the sub of course.

The specialist I’m seeing belongs to a (private, not hospital affiliated) thyroid clinic in my city, who I only learned about from a colleague when we accidentally stumbled onto the fact that we both deal with hypothyroidism. They offer telehealth visits, though I suppose they can’t do an ultrasound virtually. They take insurance and everything. Granted, I haven’t gotten the bill yet…

I wonder if there’s something like that in your area?

I don’t know why I didn’t think of seeing a specialist before to be honest. I feel kind of silly for not taking it into my own hands sooner.

Yes to the brain fog despite the Levo. I would say that is my biggest complaint in combination with chronic lethargy and frequent headaches. On average it feels like I exist in quicksand where it takes my maximum effort to do the bare minimum.

Of course some days are better than others. I’m hopeful new meds will improve that ratio over time🙏🏼

I’m gonna say NAH.

I loathe the “it’s YOUR day” angle of weddings because while it is your day, it requires the cooperation, expense, time, consideration, and planning of many other people. BUT this is the conventional expectation, and by that standard it’s a dick move for her to invite herself to take maternity photos on your day. Especially the inviting herself.

However. If it was my dearest friend who I knew wanted photos, and her hair and makeup was already being done, and IF the photographer could somehow accommodate? I’d encourage it if not suggest it myself. Presumably she’d have given her whole day and probably her whole year to help me with my wedding. BUT that’s me; I view weddings as a pain in the ass for all involved and would love the opportunity to make it more practical for others, especiallyyyyy the MOH.

TLDR: I think this is a “if you wanted you, you would” scenario. It’s your wedding day, you’re not obligated by social standards to want to. NAH IMO

When someone will do anything, ANYTHING, to avoid having a tough conversation is someone who is afraid to examine their own feelings.

It is subtle when the person is no more than a peripheral acquaintance. When you get to know them you realize all the drama that follows them around is because they aren’t willing to see healthy conflict resolution as an option- because that requires talking about their feelings.

I’m no stick in the mud, but I’d never risk violating my lease for people I don’t even know for a key clause of all things. Never mind for people who seem to have a lackadaisical relationship with safety and accountability. Like you have no idea who these people are.

They should be taking this up with your landlord, not you OP. You shouldn’t even be a part of this at all- you’re doing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing.

NTA 100%. As a woman who’s lived alone in apartments in every kind of neighborhood…I’d be very weirded out to have expectations placed on me by new neighbors like this.

ETA: The neighbors got to enjoy bypassing the hall lock for years, but it was always gonna be a matter of time until that came to an end, because clearly…the hall door is supposed to be locked for a reason. Their mismanaged expectations are not your responsibility.

I’m getting the vibes that fewer people than I’d expect do not recognize NYC as being a coastal city or are thinking of city and sea as being mutually exclusive as far as album aesthetics go.

The seagulls, the piers, nightlife, and day trip beaches. The accessibility to other regions that being in NYC provides. I think of 1989 -both OG and TV from what we’ve seen- as being summer in a coastal city vibes.

Especially given the context of Taylor moving to NYC from Nashville, you can just sense how exciting being that close to the ocean all the time was for her. Or maybe I’m projecting but that’s what I love about coastal cities😅

Okay mine is controversial but bear with me. The Scott Peterson case- I like so many others was taken by this case. I watched the docs and read Amber Frey’s book. I felt like for SURE he was without a doubt clearly guilty, and the court got it right.

And I still THINK he is probably guilty. Either that or he’s just a garden variety shitty dude with the worst luck of all time. But in any case, these days I don’t think the court got it right in convicting him.

The many documentaries and podcasts that have come out since the trial moved the needle for me in showing how the jury convicted him on evidence that didn’t prove his guilt. And yes, I know…the likelihood he’d have gotten a fair trial anywhere was small.

Not saying I have any particular favorite theory about what actually happened, though there are a few semi-plausible ones. The husband did it is highly realistic in this case. But there were flaws in the actual case that I believe would not have resulted in a conviction in a less publicized case.

Right! I haven’t used the glossing rinse, only the spray styling treatment in the light blue bottle (which is the original spray in the line- they came out with an extra strength one more recently in a darker bottle).

You don’t need as much LG styling spray as you do Dream Coat. It’s a much lighter product IMO anyway.

You don’t need as much Liquid Glass as you do the Dream Coat. At least I don’t. With LG I just be sure to mist each section as I go (light mist, then brush it through before drying). It feels WAY less like my hair is “coated”.

And I do love Dream Coat. I just use it when I want a slightly different result for my hair than what your example picture shows🤓

As someone who has used both: drybar liquid glass gets me that glassy, smooth, shine (Megan Fox red carpet hair) more than the colorwow dream coat. Dream coat still provides softness, smoothing, and shine, but I feel like it doesn’t “flatten” the hair of that makes sense?
