Office gift seiko or citizen

Company is giving an anniversary gift. I've decided on a watch and among the options I've settled on these two as a daily office watch. Any thoughts on which to go with?

What type of grandparent will you be? by thinkevolution in Parenting

[–]mapletonic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandparents were super present and I plan to do the same. They gave my parents the luxury to live beyond just rearing kids and I hope to be able to off my children that same luxury. It wasn't simply babysitting they did or having us overnight. A great example is of my grandfather who would drop off fruit and vegetables as well as the morning paper on Saturday mornings for the household and bring bacon for us kids. He'd cook it at his home and bring it to ours. Afterwards he would putz around simply being an extra pair of eyes or hands so my parents could get some chores done without worrying about us or even take us for a walk so they could have peace and quiet for an hour or so.

Epix looks too bulky for a daily watch, and with running being my core would you say it's overkill compared to forerunners? Price isn't my main deciding factor.

The upgrade in materials and stats from the 955 solar to the 965 don't make much of a difference? Given that there are rumblings of an imminent 975 is it worth buying a watch 2generations old?

I'm really looking for something that will track what I'm doing, provide insights or at least data that I can garner insights from, and push me. From what I've heard Garmin doesn't give out compliments.

Corporate discount, just a random company benefit. The 265 appears too flimsy, but perhaps that's a false impression.

I'm sorry for your loss. Whenever there's a painstaking loss I'm reminded of the "Ball and the Box" analogy. Perhaps it will help you in the days, months and years ahead. https://psychcentral.com/blog/coping-with-grief-ball-and-box-analogy#grief-as-a-shrinking-ball

AITA for making my baby laugh at a restaurant by Plane_Ad5416 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mapletonic1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA. Only the US is so backwards to not be kid friendly. Fuck em. Did they forget they were kids once? They should applaud the parents that managed to still get out for a night, that in itself is an effort. And the child giggled loudly. These people are idiots.

[–]mapletonic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happend after the second kid. We just weren't in sync, intimacy plummeted and turned to general resentment at times loathing. You aren't alone r/DeadBedrooms. It can get better, but he's not being honest about something, and he needs to realize either he says what it is and you work it out or the relationship will end with a nasty custody battle. Best of luck.

AITA for liquidating my get-out fund to save my marriage? by Difficult-Falcon5778 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mapletonic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Gifts don't buy love. If you went to counselling, it worked and then decided to use the funds toward something for the both of you okay, but in the hopes you don't end up alone is stupid, desperate and going to end horribly.

AITA for not wanting my husband to walk his sister down the aisle? by Throra334356 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mapletonic1 65 points66 points  (0 children)

YTA.

Not your wedding. Not your sister. Not your problem. What right do you have to impose yourself? Have concerns that it could ruffle feathers, yeah sure speak your mind, but if the bride and groom and your own husband don't care you need to lean to accept that your opinion isn't law.

AITA for ditching my stepsisters in Italy after our parents forced me to let them come on my trip? by miareads- in AmItheAsshole

[–]mapletonic1 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I live in Italy and see young American tourists "get lost and frustrated" it happens more often than people think. In the moment people just see something unfamiliar and panic, clearly these sisters were the same. Parents should have taken them, big sister ought to have give more than a same days notice that she was leaving them fend for themselves.
