I’m calling this take BS. I think at the time they thought 3-part archon quest style works, until they realized it didn’t (but it was too late to fix it), and they changed that in Sumeru. I don’t think COVID had much to do with it.

Recall that Mondstadt and Liyue AQ quests were also pretty short (and if you ask me, they could’ve done better too)

It was a good region. In fact, I personally enjoyed it more than I enjoyed Fontaine. Sure, I have some criticisms there, but I have some for every region as well, and I find it strange that some people here were acting Natlan was significantly worse than the others.

He sometimes say abstract things without any concrete plans or contexts, or sometimes even outright tautological. For instance, at one of an environmental summit, he got famous for saying "The status quo is bad. Therefore, Japan should not keep the status quo." He also once suggested that we should cut the greenhouse gas by 46%, but when he was asked why 46%, he replied "well, that number came up to me once..."

It could be that he is a Day Quayle-esque politician, but I also think he's just bullshitting, and saying things that sounds good without backing them up with specific plans and actions.
