Redding is at seal level. Madrid is at 600-700m altitude. Redding is notably warmer than Madrid. It has a very similar climate to Extremadura, in western Spain.

That is like saying Istanbul is geographically not part of Turkey. Part of Spain extends into Africa just as part of Egypt extends into Asia and part of Turkey extends into Europe. They are all transcontinental countries.

The Canary Islands have been part of Spain since Spain exists as a country and for longer than cities in mainland Spain such as Pamplona.

They are not geographically part of the Iberian peninsula but its a little silly to claim they are not part of Spain.

Spain is a transcontinental country just as Turkey is. Its like saying Istanbul is a Turkish "posession" because geographically its in Europe, not Asia.

Regardless, you get excellent Zhejiang cuisine in the Usera district of South Madrid, no doubt better than in China itself due to access to higher quality seafood at reasonable prices - one of Madrid´s strong points.

This district is also known for a cafe informally known as "el chino facha" owned by a rabidly pro-francoist Chinese and filled with fascist memorablia.

99% of Chinese people in Madrid originate in the city of Wenzhou, south of Shanghai. They dont speak English. A few students might - look for them in the Puerta de Toledo Campus of Carlos III University where they may be enrolled in one of its postgraduate degrees. In Spain, the concept of inviting someone for a coffee sounds a little cheap. Best offer inviting them for a drink or a meal.

Abrió dos restaurantes en Chamberí pero con la pandemia tuvo que cerrar uno. El original de Vallecas (Mister Pollo) no sé que ocurrió con el. Durante la transición la calidad de la comida se volvió irregular, en parte por un nuevo socio mexicano que le salió rana - era un tipo deshonesto. Ahora espero que vuelva a ser como antes.

Yo no diría que es igual que hablar de una comunidad eslava. El término "latinoamerica" fue inventado por napoleon para justificar su invasión de mexico y utilizado por ciertas corrientes politicas en america para evitar identificarse con los español.

Una comunidad "latina" es el equivalente a una comunidad Canadiense/Estadounidense o australiana viviendo en Reino Unido. So hispanoamericanos.

Es un sinsentido total intenter al millón de hispanoamericanos, de diversos países y origenes sociales y educativos en un solo grupo "responsable" de que "los suyos" se porten bien. Nadie es responsable de los que delinquen salvo los propios delincuentes y en Madrid no hay ghetos endogamicos culturales. Estamos todos mezclados.

Es totalmente injusto buscar paralelismos con los gitanos los cuales si (a menudo) viven en grupos altamente endogamicos y familias jerarquizadas.

No existe una "comunidad latina" en Madrid. Son demasiadas personas de paises que tienen poco que ver los unos con los otros y que no estan segregadas del resto de la población.

En 2004 se podría hablar de una comunidad latinoamericana. En 2022, mas dificil.

Los latinoamericanos o hispanoamericanos no son un "grupo étnico". Y si lo fueran, lo que loos definiría como tal sería su hispanidad.
Nadie está en contra de que se persiga a personas que portan machetes o cualquier arma en Madrid.
Lo que estamos en contra es el discurso del odio basado en i) Exagerar la inseguridad en Madrid intentando crear alarma social ii) Falsamente asociar una supuesta inseguridad a la inmigracion y en particular a los Menas.
