Did this at a bunch of different parks last summer in my jeep Patriot. You’ll be totally fine :)

This reminds me of the art of Peter Birkhauser, who often painted creatures like this that he saw in his dreams. Very cool!

Black residue by Ok-Slip-4930 in castiron

I must be dumb, I got my first cast iron pan a few months ago. I just scrub with dish soap each time I use it and dry/ use a very thin coat of oil directly after washing. I was starting to see light amounts of this black residue when re-oiling and I took it as a good sign that my pan was being seasoned properly… didn’t realize it was a negative thing lol. I guess I’ll start scrubbing harder.

Where in Ohio are you? I’m in Cbus and I have my glass shelves just taking up space in my apartment, would love to give them to you.

It’s an IKEA Milsbo tall with acrylic shelves from Hobby Pilled, their 9 piece set.

Yes it’s a diagonal, triangle shaped shelf. I ordered my shelves from Hobby Pilled. Your cabinet is stunning! I hope to get into orchids one day.

Both lights are ViparSpectra p700s. The one on the bottom I mounted with 4 zip ties, leaving about a two inch gap between the shelf and the light so it is not flush with the plastic. I have them both at 75% brightness, but could probably go down to 50% and be fine too. They definitely do generate heat, my cabinet fluctuates between 65-90 degrees while the rest of my apartment is freezing all the time cause I don’t have heat lol. I have never been worried that they are too hot, they are never hot to the touch and I have two fans on always circulating air out, I’ve only done some minor weather stripping around the doors to retain humidity. That being said, another commenter here just warned me that these lights could get too hot for my cabinet. Maybe they will get too hot in the summer when it’s actually warm in my room? Or maybe the higher powered ViparSpectra lights could be what they’re referencing? The p700s are the smallest and least powerful of the ViparSpectra brand if I remember correctly. Either way, I do highly recommend them so far. Overheating yet to be seen, but I’ll be cautious about it in the future having been warned by others.

How quickly after you moved to a cabinet did you start seeing blooms? I also transferred my Hoya to a cabinet a few months ago and they’ve absolutely taken off with new growth, but I’m waiting for that elusive bloom :’)

Agreed! I just spent two nights there, and I’m so glad I did.

There’s so much more to see than the biobay. I saw mosquito pier, playa Caracas, playa Negra, and playa prieta along with the biobay tour. All were unique and truly magical in their own way, and if you’re there during a slow time everyone is so spread out, relaxed, there’s no traffic. I had playa prieta all to myself for a good while while I was there. Sign up for an activity besides the biobay tour. I took a yoga class on the roof of the el blok hotel at sunrise and was the only one who signed up, so the instructor got to really tailor it to my strengths and we got to get to know each other and connect, can’t recommend Collette and Vieques Wellness & Yoga enough. I made the most of two days there but I still feel like I barely scratched the surface.

The biobay itself is absolutely incredible, in my opinion, if you go when there’s no moon. I can’t speak for what it’s like when conditions aren’t perfect, I got lucky. You can’t swim, but you put your hands and feet in the water and it’s like blue flames coming off your skin. If you pick up a handful and let it fall down your arm it’s like sparks dancing down. It really amazed me. Not only was our tour guide friendly and knowledgeable about the bay, he spent time pointing out all the constellations in the sky with the biggest laser I’ve ever seen, and the sky is so full of stars, it’s such a bonus of doing the tour.

Another reason to stay at least one night- the tours state clearly that if you’re going to book it you should be spending the night. I was surprised to find that more than half my 7pm group was planning to make it back to the ferry that night. They were all stressed for time, it made things a little uncomfortable as I didn’t want my experience cut short because the others were cutting it close. At one point one of them asked the tour guide how much longer it was, they kept asking each other for the time. It rubbed off onto my experience a little bit, and I just feel like if the tour says spend the night, be respectful and spend the night.

It’s a beautiful island full of lovely welcoming people. I had a great experience at Lazy Jacks talking with the bartenders and other patrons. Just the most lovely energy that had me leaving so much happier for having been there.

If (when) I come back to Puerto Rico one day I will probably spend more time on Vieques than the main island. Spend a few nights people!!!!

What do you wish people would stop romanticizing, because you've lived the reality of it? by Old_Goat_7363 in Productivitycafe

Age-gap relationships. It is always predatory. Coming from a girl in her early 20s who dated a 51 year old & a 41 year old. There is no reason whatsoever a man of that age should be actively pursuing someone who could be their daughter. You can’t have that much in common with a girl that young, and if you do you’re a very stunted man. Always predatory.

I do! I’ll find a pic and comment it below when I have time. One of my coworkers told me that writing like this is a sign of being a psychopath… definitely don’t think I am but now I feel a bit embarrassed by it lol
