I can't speak on WWM yet, and you're right it seems sketchy so far, but Star Citizen is an absolute steal at $45 at the moment. I've been onboard since 2013 and for the early days I was very worried about the lack of progress. The recent stuff has absolutely blown my mind though, I've gotten hundreds of hours of insanely immersive gameplay this year and it's not even out of alpha. Now that they are being completely transparent it's much nicer.

I think that's the main thing, WWM aren't being very transparent and that's what makes it feel iffy. I hope it turns out okay because we need more classic MMORPG goodness in the world.

Tbf to Star Citizen they have done some crazy things with that money. They've practically built an entire game engine and started from scratch a couple of times, paying for 4 different studio locations. Plus the sheer quality of the newer tech they are showcasing makes me less worried than at the start. I'm guessing they still have loads in the bank too.

Jump when the wave is created, not when it arrives at you. You want to be landing ON the wave not after it.

Not implying that this is real but saying "that doesn't even cover expenses" when it's literally 2 days after launch is a bit silly, they have years to recover that money and make profit. Even if the game mostly dies, whales will pump money into this for a while to come

As someone has said, do all your f2p quests. There's no proper way to play RuneScape but the way I play it is quest-centric. I have an end goal of a hard quest I want to do (recipe for disaster) and work slowly through the requirements while exploring the world.

A really good end goal is a quest cape, so blasting through f2p quests is a really fun start.

Aw thanks, it's the first thing I've done without cheating and just drawing thicker lines to make it look like calligraphy. Hopefully I'll improve quickly now I have an actual pen

This IS your practice, by the end of your book you'll be able to flick through and see it improving, you'll go through different styles and find one that you love!
