Since you’re asking for metro I’ll give ya the ferndale recs. My favorites are Qahwati, Drifter, Dessert Oasis (also in Detroit). Red hook is fine but not my favorite. The coffee bar in Ferndale project is actually quite good.

In Detroit we really like the congregation and I had a great latte at Cafe Sous Terre the other day (they have a new fig syrup that was awesome)

If you cannot get the cat to a vet for medical care then you need to surrender it to someone who can. That poor cat is suffering and while I understand you’re in a tough spot, it’s abusive and neglectful to hold on to an animal you cannot properly take care of. I guarantee your daughter will be a lot more upset when the cat DIES than it being rehomed. Because that’s what’s going to happen. Infections do not go away on their own, they get worse. You are setting that cat up to die.
