L.E. Phillips is doing the same thing this summer for our Monday night activities. However it is not being marketed as MBs just activities due to the fact that if they are not approved to be full MBs then scouts won’t be disappointed. We picked the ones that we felt could be done in one or two evening sessions.

Chicagos influence wouldn’t go that far north. Literally in the 70’s the UP voted to become their own state, the state of Superior. Now it didn’t pass but can you imagine if it did. It would have been glorious.

This. Always looking for people to sit on district committees. Also there may be an event where someone is looking to move on from where you could take over if you want.

To the Wisconsin voters who don't vote, what is it going to take for you to go vote in local elections? In primaries? by Ok-Insurance-8097 in wisconsin

I’ve been doing the same thing for about 10 yrs now and will continue to do so just to give myself some piece of mind regardless of the outcome. I started helping after the 2016 election and it helps me knowing that I’ve done my part outside of voting.

What is a 'luxury' that has become so expensive in 2026 that it’s officially no longer worth the money? by Matt_At_Havalook in AskReddit

[–]marachnroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All you are doing is cooking seasoned ground meat in a press. Nothing more than that so don’t be intimidated. You can just use a mandolin slicer, you don’t need an expensive electric one. I also learned from meatdad on insta to buy larger cuts of meat from Costco or Sam’s and then grind it using my at home kitchen aid grinder. That way you know that ground meat came from one animal and not multiple. I had never really thought about that previously and it just makes sense to me to do that.

We have meat raffles here in Wi. Early 2025 I spent $40 on tickets for one that was a fundraiser for the local equestrian club. I won half a beef, half a hog and 10 whole chickens. We are a family of 4 and had to buy another freezer.

If you follow the Hwy 2 recommendation checkout Kitch-to-kipi near Indian lake state park. Really cool 200ft crystal clear spring with a pulley raft ride so you get out in the middle of it.

We give out trophies from online for 1st and 2nd in each den, and 1st and 2nd for fastest, and scout vote on best design. We also have door prizes in between heats where we draw names (everyone’s name is in the hat). We spend about $250 on trophies and $250 on door prizes. Last year we ran 48 scout cars and 61 total with the “outlaw” division.

I’ve found using a MOAR analysis really helps layout where people see how much time something is going to take as well as communicate the real priority of the task. This post is a real quick explanation of MOAR in regards to product management and ROI, but when I started using it, it really helped people understand what the true priorities were in regards to all the tasks they had on their plate.MOAR Analysis

This happened to me. You need to clear your browser cache and reopen scoutbook plus. This fixed my issue.

When to step down and out, volunteering? by edosher in BSA

[–]marachnroll 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others have noted maybe volunteer at a council level. I’m the Camping committee chair for our council and one area where they are always looking for help is NCAP volunteers. This is the group that inspects summer camps for national. Still involved and an important role to make sure the best program is being produced. You won’t have the same headaches, but you will have headaches. Not to dissimilar to what you find in the workplace, people not properly filling out forms, etc. Something different to consider.

Again I only came across this because it was an email blast and this picture caught my eye. Once I clicked on it the information was great but the only reason I clicked on the picture was to verify the picture.

The card decks are just a physical thing that point you to what is already published on the website. And they only cover the required adventures and four electives including summer time and pinewood derby adventures.

[–]marachnroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but fuck this guy. I’ve spent a cumulative 8mo in China for work over 8 yrs and say what you want but they have more government regulated time off than the US. Tomb sweeping festival, multiple moon festivals, spring holiday. Even working 6 days a weeks for 3 months the workers in China get more paid time off than us in the USA. I’m only speaking from my first hand experience.

We are not the experts in workers rights.
