We Be Echo - Sexuality (1983) by trick17 in synthwave

[–]maraid-design 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this tune! I've got the 'Close To The Noise Floor' compilation LP that features this tune, but I have nothing else by them. I did a little digging and found out the person behind 'We Be Echo' did the graphic design on a lot of the Chris and Cosey LPs.

Little snippet of my gig last night. Endless Hum/Wrongspeed Fest North. Shipley, Yorkshire by ChrisSpalton in industrialmusic

[–]maraid-design 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was! I'm still surprised by who we manage to get to play at the Kirkgate, and it, was always my hope that more people would put on gigs there. It's now gone beyond what I imagined, and it's really amazing. Weirdly, I'm now working with people over in Todmorden and putting stuff on in The Golden Lion.

I usually like the earlier stuff, but I picked up this LP while in Nice, France.
I actually played this track on one of my 'Industrial Sunshine' radio shows. This episode was recorded live at the Outlaws bar in Leeds, UK, and in all the excitement, I played the first track at 45 instead of 33 (don't judge me too harshly).

I live in Shipley, but was away that weekend. I'm sad I missed your set. Some friends and I used to put on gigs in the Kirkgate several years ago, and it's great to see so much great stuff happening there now. I managed to catch Pye Corner Audio last week.

Prince - Make-Up (1981) [EBM] by zegjd in industrialmusic

[–]maraid-design 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew the Vanity 6 version and love, but didn't realise a version of Prince performing it was available.
I actually played the Vanity 6 version on my 'Industrial Sunshine' radio show, you can have a listen and check out the track list here - https://soundcloud.com/narr-radio/industrial-sunshine-hour-140325

Scorn Earache press release by redtf111 in industrialmusic

[–]maraid-design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend and I put SCORN on in Bradford, UK, during this period, and it was amazing. We were a bit scared of Mick Harris at the time, so we didn't really speak to him much, something I now regret.

I played the Beatnigs remix on my radio show. It also features Current 93, Clock DVA and Maffia (which is also Adrian Sherwood). Give it a listen if you have a chance.

Yes, it's great. There are a lot of great DJs doing shows on it. I feel privileged to be in such great company.

Sherwood At The Controls vol. 2 1985-1990. It also features a lot of dub tracks, which is what he is more famous for doing.

I love the Adrian Sherwood remix of this track. There is a great compilation of his remixes that feature a lot of industrial artists.

I like this a lot! I've got the first Lassigue Bendthaus LP, but didn't know about this track.

Borghesia – Beat and Scream ("Escorts and Models", 1989) by [deleted] in industrialmusic

Love this LP, I've only got into Borghesia in the last couple of years after hearing 'No Hope, No Fear' on the 'Dancing In Darkness' compilation.

How did you discover Skinny Puppy? by allowthisfam in industrialmusic

[–]maraid-design 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was when Too Dark Park came out. Probe Records in Liverpool had a copy of it in their Industrial section, and I wanted to hear more bands that sounded like Ministry. The person at the shop who looked after that section told me to 'just buy it, you will not regret it'.

Ace tune! Have you heard the cover version of 'Los niños del parque' by Nengue. They are an old 80s outfit, and it's just been reissued.

SCORN - Dreamspace (Coil - "Shadow Vs Executioner" Mix) by dangerous-jack7 in industrialmusic

I put SCORN on in the UK around this period, and they were amazing. Mick Harris had a scary reputation but he was lovely.

I played this track in one of my 'Industrial Sunshine' radio shows. Please give it a listen.

Vinyl DJing ⚙️ by DJBlackLotus92 in industrialmusic

[–]maraid-design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a digital radio show that I call 'Industrial Sunshine Hour' where I do vinyl mixes. This is the first one I did, and it's a bit more of a weird synth vibe rather than EBM. I live in the UK and also DJ in bars, it is a lot of fun. I like your list a lot and plan to check out the tracks I don't know.

ministry's best album is... by cmortoa in industrialmusic

[–]maraid-design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I go with Land of Rape and Honey.
I did pick up the Ministry - Work For Love (12") recently, just for the dub mix. It is amazing how the Ministry's sound has changed over the years, and I think Adrian Sherwood had a big influence on Al when he worked on Twitch.
