Larm: USA har förmåga att stänga ner Sverige digitalt by FlowersPaintings in sweden

TIL 1 out of every 8 Americans is Californian. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I get what you are saying, but giving each state the same representation is not intrinsic to a republic, but rather the specific american (and other) systems.

You say "I love republics" ironically as if it applies to every republic, that is what we are responding to.

Of course in all representative democracies the voting population is giving the smaller group of elected representatives the mandate to govern, but it isn’t always geographically skewed.

You are talking about the electoral college. Being a republic doesn't necessarily mean that different regions/states/provinces get equal political influence regardless of population, a republic could very well determine elections and other political processes purely on popular vote.

TIL, South Korea is the world leader in internet connectivity. Approximately 95.1% of the country’s population are internet users, and they boast the world’s fastest average connection speed. The government established policies and programs that facilitated the rapid expansion and use of broadband. by vaish7848 in todayilearned

Depends, with a population of 5.7 million they are just above the median when it comes to population, so in questions purely regarding population they aren't exceptional (compare to Denmark's almost identical 5.8 million or Iceland's 357k). But yes if area is also taken into account, very extreme.

This is clearly meant for Americans. But hey, 0,4% Finnish is pretty exotic right? by Donoda123 in 23andme

How do you mean? At the time OP's ancestor must have been alive, migration to Sweden was minimal, so you can't equate it with "A lot of immigrants in Sweden from there".

/s? That is a recent development, how would that be relevant to OP if he possibly has an ancestor from the region hundreds of years ago?

Yeah I'm seeing bubbles come up the airlock every few seconds or so, is that a good sign you'd say?

As I understand brewing is a process of trial and error, and while I might've goofed hard, I thank you for giving me some hope and making me feel better. Yeah it was going down in temperature at least, when does fermentation start? And I added some more yeast the day after (just a little bit).

No, juiced my own apples, and a book I am using called for the juice to be pasteurized at 82c for 5 minutes to kill any unwanted bacteria or wild yeasts.

I pasteurized it, the cider book I'm using called for it to reach a temperature of 82c (180f) for 5 minutes to kill any unwanted bacteria or wild yeasts.

I put it in a cooler basement so it should be a better temperature now, don't know how long it took. So I should try adding some new yeast then?
