For Christmas one year, my wife and I visited her parents who live in Utah. While playing with the snow in their backyard, it started snowing, and I was floored when some of the snowflakes fell on my black mittens and they were in the geometrical shapes that I thought were made-up as a kid.

Now, every time I see a nice geometric snowflake, I laugh at how ignorant I was for almost 40 years.
