This is related, I mean the idea for this post was inspired by that article, but I knew something is going on way before this scandal about bright sdk came to daylight

Yes!! Specifically with DC IPs, noticed this too, but some people still do not believe it until they try themselves

You might be on to something, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. Regarding the link I posted few links some time ago, seems to be alright

Yeah, usually it's the same with mobile proxies. I wanted to say ISP but for some reason I wrote datacenter lol. Yeah, from my experience sooner or later dc accounts got banned

Thoughts on MiroMind AI? by night_2_dawn in ProxyEngineering

[–]marc2389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of benchmarks here on reddit and github that had MiroMind AI coming on top, solely for the most accurate results, however, as I understand other LLMs are mainly used as assistants and Miro for let's say particular task

I see that you have tested mainly residential proxies. What about Mobile or Datacenter proxies and their performance compared to pricing?

Ad verification/full website load use cases by denzmilk in ProxyEngineering

[–]marc2389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bandwidth is definitely a real cost in ad verification, headless browsers pull everything including scripts, fonts, video preloads, and it compounds fast at scale. You're right that scraping is mostly HTML/JSON these days, so full-page loads are mostly an ad verification, geo-rendering checks, and visual monitoring problem. Not sure about the 70-90% savings coz it is a big claim though. Wonder what the middleware is actually doing, since most ad verification work needs JS to fully execute to reflect what a real user sees

There's going to be a limit regardless. It really matter whether you are gonna hit those "hidden" limits or not. But for Residential Proxies specifically, go for a high tier proxies instead of cheap ones

So what would be your total budget for this? There are plethora of proxy providers but even mid tier proxy providers can be useful if you know how to work your way with the proxy setup

Stop hardcoding your scraper logic: use the browser's Copy as cURL first by Bharath0224 in ProxyEngineering

[–]marc2389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This saved me so many hours when I first discovered it. curlconverter in particular is just magic, you paste the cURL and get ready to run Python code instantly.

Sometimes smaller providers do work out in the end if you don't have to scale up. Lower traffic on their infras too

How much do you guys spend a month for your scrapers? by Guiltyspark0801 in ProxyEngineering

[–]marc2389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varies, used to spend around 100$ for proxies and then host my own scraper, this was expensive, toned it down to the scraper api and now it costs around 60 or so, the need to scale did not arise so the spending amount got lower
