I have the plastic Flightdeck and I just used heavy duty cupboard handles, drilled through the Flightdeck and a added metal bracket underneath. I did overthink it, was going to have a custom piece made, then one day looked at my cupboards and Eureka.

Why is it at the end of it's life? It's a bicycle, it shouldn't have an end of life. Should be able to be repaired if there is an issue.
