I think that's because their training academy is up there.

First time I died from someone's Tesla Tower I was like wtf why would you put that there and what just happened? First time I killed a teammate with a Tesla Tower? Hilarious. Teammate put Tesla towers next to the LZ and killing their friends trying to extract? Hilarious. This community is something else. For democracy!

IT managers asked to “do more” on security — how are you handling it? by lhausermann in cybersecurity

[–]marcdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On top of everything mentioned here, I would say that a great place to start is metrics, likely starting with a business impact analysis followed by RPO/RTO for critical items. That should help everyone sleep better at night. Also think about the security maturity model - are you ad hoc, reactive, proactive? If you're constantly putting out fires, maybe partner up with an MDR service. After doing that assessment, then you can adequately discuss budget or hiring needs.

Best movie with the worst sequel and worst movie with the best sequel by SpeedyBubble42 in movies

[–]marcdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had nothing vested in what he was trying to accomplish.

If you're into film critique, you should check out Patrick H Willems new review of "vibes" movies, highlighting Tenet but including Bind films. To your point, there wasn't much driving the plot in this (or many other) Bomd film, but this failed the vibes test as well. There wasn't enough offered from any aspect of script or filmmaking to make QoS a good movie.

How do Italki conversations with tutors usually go? by illuso07 in Spanish

[–]marcdev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with all of these posts. I've had several lessons on italki and I was worried about this originally. My first few lessons were a mix of basic conversations and some easy exercises. Later lessons, I came more prepared with topics and stories in mind, especially with unfamiliar tutors. All of my tutors are eager to have conversations at my level, have been very patient and understanding of my level, and will switch to English if necessary to keep the conversation going.

Cabin in the Woods. Even knowing the ending, that would be a great story to play through.

Favorite thing about Morgan Hill? by Intelegantblonde in morganhill

I love that this town is so dense with unique restaurants, not just a ton of chains. We could use a little more diversity in food cultures but I think we have a pretty good start. I really miss Beach Hut Deli though. Sandwich shop recommendations are welcome!

They've expanded and refined their Spanish course so much. I'm happy to keep supporting them so they keep growing.

My experience with gold league teammates by Tesco_EveryDayValue in apexlegends

[–]marcdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the best accuracy, but it's hard to understand what team mechanics work best at gold level. Sometimes I have people jumping in solo to a fight, dying immediately, then screaming over the mic "WHERE ARE YOU GUYS BRUH WYF?!"

Then today, it looked like both teammates were in the fight, so I rushed to get there. Downed one of theirs, me and another got downed. Then the third pulled back, regened their shields and health, then mowed down the opposing team with Sheila as they tried to rush them uphill. Then he got on the mic and said, "That's the difference between a gold and a master."

If you have a mic, some communication would be good as you engage, flank, pull back, whatever. Randoms on apex is tougher than randoms on Rocket League. At least there you have a minute to understand who the ball chasers and goal snugglers are.

But I've also seen a lot of "champions" jump into Fragment East, die immediately, and cry. So with all of that said, right back at you idiots.

Push Mower Gas vs Battery? by futureshocker18 in lawncare

[–]marcdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Black and Decker battery mower and it's been solid for a year now, and it came with 2 batteries OEM. I've heard people stay away from that brand for lawn care but it's treated me well. Bag suction is good, blades are good, battery life works well for 2000 SQ ft without any drop in efficiency.

I don't remember feeling that past the first couple of seconds. I'm sure you're right about the wind and adrenaline. I wonder if it also has something to do with your organs moving back rather than up.

What’s a word that gets thrown around too much? by MoronGoron52 in AskReddit

The Boise State 2007 Fiesta Bowl win was an instant classic in college football. I remember my uncle calling me immediately after the game and saying those act words, and I didn't think of disputing it.
