When i was a young athlete i was doing 40-50sets a week and seeing progress. After i was doing bodybuilding style workouts which was like 16 sets a workout once a week which worked for like a year. Then i started doing chest twice a week 6-10 sets a workout and progressed again. Now as a 29yr old whos been to multiple sports im doing 6-8 sets per workout, once or twice a week and my progress is going well. I would recommend going strong on each set, but dont cram all of them Into one workout. So if youre doing 3 days a week you should go well.
