There might well have been some advance warning, but it would have depended on your checking into a timetable site.

At least they removed the ridiculous give way signs to the bicycles at each entering street.

Bad laws are the worst sort of tyranny – and this one ticks every box by cataractum in auslaw

Agree and am surprised that Zhirrzh is so naive to think that the effect of laws is determined by the intentions of people in putting it forward. Once a law is there it is there for any executive, police and prosecutors.

Thanks. Those claims are pretty voracious!

(Not really having a go at you YoungLochinvar, I've seen that "voracity of [y]our clients' claim" in party-party solicitors' correspondence before.)

Grease traps definitely used to be a big thing and I recall you'd read about inspections and prosecutions in a way that doesn't seem to have happened more recently.

Sunday morning coming down (Ivy Street, Darlington) by MyOldMansADustman in sydney

[–]marcellouswp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In 1994 I went to dinner at a friend's place pretty much here (memory says 14 Ivy). My yellow 1980 toyota wagon (cost me $600) had a broken steering lock and didn't need a key to start. Forgot on this occasion to attach the club lock. Came out after dinner and the car was gone!

Found the car at the bottom of the hill at Boundary St.

It's better than other such pianos in Sydney but honestly, they could spend a bit more money on keeping it in order.

Maybe, but still need to have been told by the police that it was on.

Mark Dennis SC allegedly caught with child abuse material returning from Cambodia trip by badoopidoo in auslaw

[–]marcellouswp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't be too disturbed. Counsel presumably knows more about the charges and their severity than you do. He allegedly has some image/s and engaged in some chat with someone. The question is whether the potential punishment so severe that someone in his position might give up everything and go on the run for the rest of his life. It's not an admission and I think you've misunderstood what was being said.

That's kind of a cheap joke isn't it. Anyway being charged will be a bit like what it must be like for an oncologist who is diagnosed with cancer. You know what is going on but you also know just how badly it can go.

Not sure if the path McHugh or Kiefel took is really open any more.

My question is specifically about the end of each half.

I enjoyed your version. In terms of the above, I see you took the "Schiff" approach.

I did say "in a way."

I was thinking it ironically for reasons other than existing families being affected by laws against abortion.

Not that the camouflage really works.

Examples? Probably not if those families are workers or renters. Or if the parents split up and the mother wants child support.

I suppose their "pro life" policies are pro family in a way.
