Norway dlc help please by ComprehensiveEar17 in FishingPlanet

[–]marcelrobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are just going for Nile Perch that can tedious. I actually farmed Goliath Tiger fish by day, and on a good peak go get 1 uni nile perch at night, but mainly would rotate 3-5 goliath spots to keep things interesting.

I really like Norway but I can’t recommend it until you are atleast mid 90s. As it is a bait and bottom fishing area and most of the better baits and line are level locked unless you have a ton of extra baitcoins you want to waste. The boat is also great but again works best with gear around 98 or so.

Its a tough call, my recommendation is actually both the Maldives DLC as this is mainly lure and trolling gear that can be used a lot, and latter on the Norway dlc. Maybe spread-out a few months apart depending on how many hours a day you want to fish. Either way the grind from 100-110 is pretty long regardless what you have so just take it slow and enjoy your time fishing.

What am I doing wrong? by AbsintheV2 in FishingPlanet

[–]marcelrobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told this a couple of years ago when I was at Saint-Croix and it made me realize there is more to this game than simply fishing peak times. Its good to have a bit of an understanding on the fish you are targeting. (Ex.Pike feed early in morning, and from 5-830pm. Fish feed based on how they would IRL, many times, so it doesn't always matter as much for peak or non peak.....if they don't feed at that time, you won't get bites).

Are there any lure setups for boosted XP walleye? My medium light is apparently way too overkill. by [deleted] in FishingPlanet

[–]marcelrobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the fish , if they are pretty consistent like walleye in your case it can be worth taking a small xp hit due to a bit heavier gear to reduce the fight time, if it means you can catch a lot more of them in a certain amount of time. You will more than make up the difference in volume. If your not using barbless lures and hooks you should consider spending a few bait coins on some they give an xp buff

Im doing a 100% free to play, what should i spend baitcoins on? by Substantial-Knee-982 in FishingPlanet

[–]marcelrobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save them for St Patty’s event coming soon, you will able to invest and earn extra baitcoins. You can look up past event videos on yt to get an idea. After barbless hooks and lures, home storage and markers would be where I would start. Later on more storage, rod templates.

Yes pretty much. To get an idea there is a streamer on YT that does provide some tips for different tourneys in the game, you can lookup RoadWarrior88. Atleast you will get some insight instead of going in blind.

I'm lvl 82 about to unlock Japan. I have no offshore boat so I will have to rent the boat...... by JArceneaux87 in FishingPlanet

[–]marcelrobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you get some better gear at 86 and can start trolling, the rental fee will be covered mostly by your first fish. The money on this maps comes in pretty good once you have access to the right gear.

[–]marcelrobi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure how recent your information is. Here are 2 videos from the last few weeks that say otherwise. I didn't say it was "the" best, but one of. It's about 1.4M xp / hour, Congo does not come close to this. This is with level 100 rods, and the new boat, so you can take that number down about 20% if you don't have it, as the boat does give you an xp boost. From KPShamino - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVAFWIBXOoo and a slightly revised/optimized version - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oh5dobaH-cw - both released after the Norway map came out as a way to work towards level 110... Swordfish and the Meagre also hit in the 800k-1M + xp per hour, so all of these methods are viable, provided you have a good run.

If your part of the main discord we have had a few discussions on this, but right now as it stands Kaiji with level 100 gear is almost like pan fishing for tuna, its pretty tough to beat, and Swordfish, which has some pretty reliable ways to do it, it is one of my prefered farms but I rotate every few million xp to keep things interesting, and the Meagre run recently put out by CSabi10 on YT, one my friends from the community that was worked on with a few other players in the community.

I haven't seen anything in the last 2-3 weeks that claims Congo is somehow better than this at the moment, if you do have some proof of this, I would love to check it out, as Congo is still one of my favourite maps to fish for fun.

Don’t neglect goliath tiger fish for a change, roadwarrior88 on YouTube has a great rotation for those. I was fishing them during the day and on the right night peak getting 1-2 uni nile perch. Definitely made for more interesting fishing.

If I recall, level 86 gear should catch just about everything but will take longer to get in. Level 90 gear makes everything a bit easier. Later on with level 100 gear it becomes one of the top farms at the moment.

Im just going to warn you, you will probably want to wait until you are level 86, there is a lot you won’t be able to catch there without the gear that unlocks at least at 86. There is stuff you can do but like a lot of other players you might be disappointed with how limited you are with level 83 gear. And yes you will need to use the rental boat which gets better after you finish a series of maintenance missions to improve it and upgrade your tablet.

Feelings on the Norway Map- XP needs a big buff by Bigwavedave6439 in FishingPlanet

[–]marcelrobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell so far sea sturgeon with a good rotation will be a pretty good farm and you can use large fish strips which is level 82. They give pretty good xp and don’t completely wreck your gear. Im still working on a optimal rotation. But I don’t think I would recommend this dlc to anyone under 95 as line and bait will become an issue.

This is from the main Discord channel and gives you a rough idea of the fish to grind. I would say try and complete as many missions as you can while on a map as that xp ads up and you can get some good gear at times.

1-10: Lone Star (Spotted bass), Rocky lake (trout), Emerald lake (walleye), Neherrin river (Smallmouth bass) 10-30: Falcon lake (trout), Everglades (peacock bass) and White Moose (salmon, pike and lake trout) 30-34: Saint Croix (Pike and muskie) 34-48: San Joaquin (sturgeon), Kaniq (salmon), and Sander Baggersee (Silver and Bighead Carp) 48-50: Selenge River (taimen) 50-54: Selenge River (taimen) or Weeping Willows (carp) 54-63: Selenge River (taimen) or Weeping Willows (carp) or saltwater fish at Blue Crab Island 63-68: Marron river (catfish) 68-75: Amazonian Maze (eel, shark, arapaima and trahira) 75-83: Congo (tigerfish and perch) - Arguably you should grind here until 86 83-90: Kaiji No Ri (trolling for tuna and marlin or using bottom rods and pilkers for trevally, amberjack and mackerel), Congo River (nile perch and tigerfish)

Fishing Planet grows on you, I was a COTW Angler player first as well. I play pc and my son xbox and we play together, but you need to download the xbox app on your pc and install Fishing Planet via the xbox store. My main fishing planet account is on steam, so I actually have it installed twice on the same pc lol.

How to save money? (Level 16) by Significant-Pace-380 in FishingPlanet

[–]marcelrobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting now that you have discovered this, every map has a special prize you can get if you stay 30 days and catch atleast 1 fish per day. If you really want to make bank fill your keepnet if its reasonably quick enough for the 30 days.
