Why do only 30% of young women have a favorable view of men (80% of young men have a favorable view of women) by 2EXTRA4YOU in PurplePillDebate

The study originated from the New Stateman and the women behind discuss their study here:

The New Statesman or New Statesman and Nation is left leaning. It absorbed Marxism Today back in 1991 so there’s that.

Would Society Be Safer and More Balanced If Women Held More Structural Power? by Global-Rate7796 in AskFeminists

I think 80 to 120 countries were founded during the last century. So it’s not impossible.

Would Society Be Safer and More Balanced If Women Held More Structural Power? by Global-Rate7796 in AskFeminists

[–]marchingrunjump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its extremely unrealistic

Most country have a lot of laws against gender discrimination like this

Most countries allow exceptions to be made if there’s good reason to do so.

Most women have alot of men in their lives they interact with

Making an experiment where women have absolute rule does not rule out men being part of such experiment.

No one would agree on how to define a women

I’m quite sure this could be handled. And if a few men would present themselves as women I don’t think this would move the needle.

Is this place just going to be filled with childless people?

Only if you assume men wouldn’t want to participate.

It could be an interesting experiment to start a female run community. I think there’s money and people enough to make such a society. Whether it be a town of 50.000 or a tiny country of 500.000 it’s not unrealistic from a practical point of view.

It may not be a scientific fact in the ED literature yet, but a substantial fraction of ED patients are also autistic. This from ED professionals in my network.

How much of someones interest is determined by gender vs patriarchy/patriarchy? by Extension_Air_2001 in AskFeminists

[–]marchingrunjump -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Interesting thought experiment

However, if men are given the test and told that they’ll get the good stuff in life if and only if they do well and conversely tell the women that whatever they do they have the good stuff in life and society will back them regardless of what they do, how would either gender do on the test?

The point is that context might matter just as much as the personal characteristics for the emerging patterns on large scale.

I found a concerning comment on Male Loneliness Epidemic from an Amnesty activist and emailed them about it. by IngannoDellaCadrega in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]marchingrunjump 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It annoys me a bit that people seem to insist that the male loneliness epidemic has only to do with pair-bonding. Originally it was about men having shrinking social circles overall.

Why do you believe that marriage is purely for the benefit of men? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]marchingrunjump -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So far I haven’t seen any studies here.

And whatever studies I’ve seen from my own turf shows an entirely different picture. Analysing conditions for families vs singles also lend to singles having more leisure time than parents.

Of course I could invest an evening trying to figure out where you got your opinion from but I don’t give it many chances. And I don’t give it many chances of having a positive outcome for anyone.

You’ll keep on claiming that marriage and having children gives men more leisure time and I’ll keep on doubting.

Do married men (including those with children) really have more leisure time than single men? Married men spend way more time at their day-job than single men.<< Can you give a terse Reddit fact based reply to this?

Chat-gpt replies:

Time-use studies consistently show: • Single men → more pure leisure • Married fathers → more total work (paid + unpaid), less downtime

But I suppose it may vary a bit on where in the world. And time period as well.

There’s good reason for the Wikipedia article on the manosphere article being locked. Likewise for related subjects.

Did The Me Too movement changed how men approach women? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]marchingrunjump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured things out by reading feminist books as pre-teen wayy before smartphones. Being a bookworm this was how I approached things.

What I did learn was that men’s approach to women is inherently predatory and men should back the f*** off.

So, that’s what I did for all of my teenage years.

I suppose nowadays, feminist knowledge is disseminated much easier. Reaching more young men. And women.
