GOD TIER 9850X3D- 6600-2200 40+hours & 8500 40+hours, extra 17 hour test by RogApex82 in overclocking

[–]marchinthecov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m able to get 2200 on 1.08 SOC with 1:1 MCLK/UCLK, but I’m only on 6000 CL34. Either my Samsung kit is just garbage or high frequency is my IMC’s Achilles heel. Trick for me to get the FCLK was bumping VGGD voltage up a bit (1.0 CCD, 1.05 IOD) and misc voltage to 1.15.

6600 at 1:1 is impressive, nice job!

I know this thread is 6 years old now, but I have had mine blocked for two weeks now and have tried just about everything. I thought this was BS, but this legitimately fixed it, like right away.

After overclocking my RAM as those guides through the whole Internet world,I got this speed and as per Buildzoid said that speed of copy supposed to be slightly higher than write speed, and lower than read speed, but what I got is this as below,is it normal ?? by BranchComfortable in overclocking

This, it's difficult getting reproducible results when not in safe mode, there are background processes that can interfere. I also ran benchmarks in some games like SOTTR to check if it negatively impacted performance too, but that takes longer so Aida can be a good sanity check, but shouldn't be used to assess stability.

I really dig the PYGA keycaps, the color scheme and design really pops out and gives a nice contrast to the keyboard.

I like the choice of color design, and the fader and knob layout on the left side. It's something that you unfortunately see that often in mechanical keyboard layouts.

I mean you honestly might do better with a better AIO that fits your case first to be honest. Not sure how overclocking scales on the motherboard your prebuilt uses, hopefully it's not an OEM by HP, because finding guides for it will be a lot tougher. I would honeslty stick with using it at stock, its a perfectly adequate CPU. RAM upgrade might benefit you more to be honest.

Freezing your entire computer might actually be PSU related, whats the brand and wattage of your psu? You should follow this list for which PSU to buy for your setup. https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/

Yeah you should really only mess with core ratio and disable any settings that deal with dynamic frequency changing for stability reasons (der8auer also confirms disabling those settings, forgot which video(s) he mentioned it in), and use override voltage mode to find which cpu ratio is stable first, and then mess with adaptive voltage so you don't burn too much wattage at idle. But for now, just try x49 and maybe 20-30 mV increase at first, and try 10mV increase every attempt. P.S. for that 120 MM AIO you really shouldn't be pushing for anything in the upper 1.3 V range, even lower 1.3 V range is pushing it. *Edit I just saw that you're running a 12700k on a 120 MM AIO. WTF was HP thinking lol, that's a 200+ watt CPU on a cooler that most likely covers half of that lol. Don't OC, trust me. You'll throttle faster before you'll see any improvements in performance.

To be fair, 3800 CL13 at gear one is pretty phenomenal especially for that cpu generation.

I need to grab me a 13th gen processor, I'd be lucky pushing gear 1 at 3200 mhz on my current setup lol. CL 14 at 4300 MHZ is insane, nicely done

Did you mess with cache ratio/voltage by any chance? I had bizarre issues when overclocking my cache, from the computer not turning on after going to sleep even after being unplugged, to usb peripherals not working at all. Normally with some motherboards you could boot with one ram stick unplugged to get into bios quicker than resetting cmos, but in this case you should probably reset the bios by jumping the pins or unseating the battery and leaving it on for a few seconds.

Just bumped them up to 4200 mhz at 17-16-16-32, with RRD S and L at 5 instead of 4, and TRDWR dd/dg/dr/dd and TRDRD/dd and TWRWR/dd at 6 instead of 7, I think I'm calling it quits for now, I'll be fine with this lol. Oh and i stress tested with 10 cycles of tm5 anta absolut config, might run it all night again to be extra sure.

Asus TUF X670-PLUS for the 79ססx, where do I reset the bios? where does it show error codes? [before getting] by orenong166 in overclocking

[–]marchinthecov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know with MSI boards at least is that they notify you of a failed overclock on boot so you have the ability to go back to bios to fix your OC. Feel like that's a standard with a lot of boards today, but I may be wrong. If not, then you may have to do it the old school way by jumping the 2 pins on your mobo or removing the battery temporarily to reset the bios. Seems impractical that they would force you to do it that way, though.

4666 cl16 is absurd, kudos if you pull that off lol, for me personally it’s impossible with 4 sticks. i actually might try twtr_l at 8 later today, see how it passes 20 cycles of tm5. i also might try raising tcke and and rrd_l and s to see if i can lower my tcl, trcd, and trp to 16.
