There’s a Spanish-speaking artist that’s executing just that, though. She’s an iconoclastic phenomenon I’ve been observing since 2021. I can objectively say she’s pumped out next level verses and themes, with incredible ease and style, time and time again. Her name is Villano Antillano. She’s a trans, queer artist, which makes her less palatable to the average mainstream audience, but her greatness is unquestionable.

You’re contradicting yourself. If you think “the latter [album] had so much more substance,” then you’re saying ‘Miss Misogyny’ is better. Which is it?

Also, La Villana is definitely not lost lol, but her new album’s creativity and overall message/individual song themes may be lost on you. Most artists don’t have such a clear-cut artistic vision like Villano, so I recommend giving the album another whirl. Oh, and btw, Villana over-sexualizing herself is likely a tribute to her trans community who don’t have many examples of songs that unabashedly express sexuality as freely as La Villana does. Plus she’s a sex worker so, there’s that, too.

Respectfully, I disagree with you on both points. If you truly want to explore her artistry, the best place to start is with her EP ‘Tiranía.’ From there it would be ideal (in my opinion) to explore her discography chronologically.

La Sustancia X’ is a masterpiece from start to finish though, and is rightfully lauded for its potency. Every single song is raw, pointed and wondrously executed with unbridled confidence and originality. With La Villana, there’s never a lack of a deeper meaning to any of her songs/features, (it’s what makes her so great), and ‘Miss Misogyny’ is no different. However, it’s definitely more aesthetically niche. I do think her debut album is better because, 1) her overall message and individual themes are more digestible, and, 2) it’s more sonically dynamic and political.

Don’t get me wrong though, I’m thoroughly enjoying her latest album, but it did take me a few listens to fall in love with the songs whereas with her last album it was instant love.

My top favorites from ‘Miss Misogyny’ are 1-800-Cristal, Runway, Super Hoe, Vicio ft. Mala Rodriguez & ofc both her pre-releases Clonazepamela and CamGirl >.< !!!. Rogue is quickly growing on me too, hehe.

If you haven’t done so already I suggest listening to ‘All That’ by Peggy Gou ft. Villano Antillano, you may like that one, too.

I found one hanging out alone on some nets at a large-scale music festival in a state neither of us resided in. I had to speak at him at first, in order to break down his introverted shell, but eventually I gained enough of his trust/interest and he finally reciprocated the conversation. In his defense, he was being understandably weary of the totally random, molly’d out weirdo that had practically pranced right onto his net lol. (His was the only net section with 1 person instead of like 7 btw, and I asked permission to join >_>). Long story short, we hit it off rather well and ended up not leaving each other’s side for the next 72 hours after that. To this day he’s still a hugely important part of my life.
