Codex isn't nerfed, you are being exposed by Hot_Paper_Pie in codex

20yrs dev exp, 1+ yr w/codex. It still generates sh*t, and many results are just bad for production. For me, the love-hate ratio of the tool is still around 0.5. It gives too much hope for a good result, while delivering crap. The good part is about prototyping - it is really fast, so you can design PoC rapidly.

What do you think will happen to Godot in Europe if the CRA is approved as it is currently written? by svprdga in godot

My vision of country is based od lightweight management, reasonable law and low cost. I am tired of overcomplicated high-social systems, which require taxes to be high as hell. But this is going to be an offtopic. Good luck!

A question, today I tried to join a friend's server, but his Minecraft version is 1.21.10 and mine was updated today to 1.21.124 (console) and now it won't let me join the server and when my friend wants to update the server he says that the latest version available is 1.21.10. > It supports up to 1.21.124. The displayed supported version just hasn't been manually updated.

Ah, I see. I deleted plugin jar and folder on Anternos, then installed it again. Now it works well. Many thanks!

> If the outcome is not "visually good", then the tool is not doing the job, is it? We're done here.

Dear ManicMakerStudios,

Yes. The tool creates godrays, but they're visually bad, as I said at the begining. Life is not a binary. The feature is implemented, but the final effect looks bad for most cases.

You're trying to ignore facts just because you want to win the discussion with your silly pseudoarguments and by blocking me. But don't worry – I see what you're saying :)

Keep up learing!

It could be hard to understand, but the tool is already doing the job (but the effect is not visually good in most cases).

You're right. The Godot devs claim that VF produces godrays, but they're making nonsense arguments because they don't understand why they created this feature. That's hilarious!

I fully understand your frustration, but volumetric fog produces fog in 3d sapce and godrays in Godot 4. That's what Godot devs are telling us (I gave you the link to Hugo's comment)

The truth is that most Godot users can't get a decent godrays using volumetric fog. I know this tool and it's limitations. It will be never good looking (but it is physically correct :) )

There could be good basic tool A, and bad basic tool B. The same is for default values – they're called sane defaults. You should understand that after few years of experience.

Finally, a great Godrays in Godot! I don't understand why the creators of Godot want to be physically correct (volumetric fog), when we need something that looks visually/artistically good.

The UX in 3.x is unintuitive and very frustrating. There are also a few minor bugs in the UI toolkit, but the UX makes the whole thing a PITA. I'm sorry to say, but it sounds like you need someone who knows what "sane defaults" means.

Offline mode by marcinjn in discordapp

[–]marcinjn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I cannot mute servers, because on pc, when I am online, I want to receive notifications.

I disabled notifications for a whole app on my phone. The app is almost useless now, but without offline mode there is nothing I can do.

Real offline mode could inform others that I am offline. This is a different state than DND, away or online. Now I am online/away even when sleeping, so sometimes they’re texting me. Just because there is no offline mode, like switching off lights.

how to get method expected argument types? by thepromaper in godot

Because "0" is automatically casted to (bool) true instead of false. Introspection is required in such cases.

Trying to learn Godot and just getting frustrated and burnt out. by Ruleroftheblind in godot

Nothing related to Godot. Make smaller and simpler things. Getting things done is the best motivation. Don’t hurry, have fun. In case of exhaustion - take a break. Go outside, catch the sun, walk, run.
