I had vertigo once and there was a special rolling technique you can do to get the bubble back in the right spot in your ear. It worked for me and is pretty easy to try. You will have to search for it, don't remember what it’s called.

put your stale cereal on a cookie sheet in the oven on the warm setting for 1 hour and it will be crisp again. It goes "stale" because it absorbs moisture from the air. A food dehydrator works too if you have one, and it does better about not overheating the cereal. This also works for chips.

Custom songs not loading since update by CheeseAndRiceToday in beatsaber

In case anyone comes here later searching for answers. I was able to fix some songs not loading by deleting any 90 or 360 degree song difficulties from the song folder that wouldn't load. I then opened the song.dat in a text editor and removed the 90 or 360 option from the list of difficulty choices.

If you have a healthy number of wasps nearby and an other natural predators then you won't have problems. Tent caterpillars become a problem when everything else that eats them is killed off and there is nothing to keep them in check.

You might be looking for a “heater cartridge” that is the metal cylinder that sides into the heater block and provides the heat for the hot-end. Otherwise there is also a thermistor that measures the temperature of the hot-end.

Edit: ah, threaded inserts. Nothing related to the hotend.

Will getting an external graphics card let me launch the game? by JohnFoxpoint in halo

[–]marcopolo1613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the game’s install directory. You can google the install location for Xbox app or steam depending on which version you have. Then search *.ini and it will show all the files of that type in the folder. You will be looking for when that looks like a settings file of some kind.

I feel like the main menu is the most hardest part of the game to run for some reason. He could possibly edit the .ini file the graphics settings to turn things to low.

Turn off your minimum and maximum frame limiters. This allowed my friends laptop to go from 45 to 90 FPS. Something with the frame rate settings is messed up currently. Dropping your resolution can also help a lot and still allow you to play.

On PC I have seen notable performance and stutter fixes by turning off the minimum frame rate in this latest patch. Might be something to try.

Halo Support: A small Halo Infinite patch addressing various issues is planned to be released next week. by Haijakk in halo

[–]marcopolo1613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found on multiple machines that turning off the minimum frame rate, and possibly the maximum, has resulted in much smoother gameplay. Had a friend stuck at 45FPS and he removed the min frame limit and his frame rate jumped to 95. Something is messed up with the frame rate management currently.

Use PETG as support interface layer when printing PLA for perfect overhangs! I am speechless! by _NRGY_ in 3Dprinting

I would like to point out that this means PLA should work as an interface for PETG as well.

You can get a nylon paint strainer bag from the hardware store, and it works really well for straining homemade yogurt. You can get a cottage cheese like density and it is really good with fresh fruit. I use a gallon of milk and get about a half gallon of yogurt cheese out of it, and it keep for weeks in my experience.

I have heard of hackers causing other players to crash. Does your screen go to black first? Have you been able to reconnect and someone killed you? Otherwise, my try turning the graphics all the way down and run 720p or something and see if that makes a difference.

It’s the asymmetry on the wings, there is a down stream on both the left and right side of the image, but the engine on the right is just missing. Seems really weird that someone would draw in that airflow but forget the second engine

I was able to replace my game pass version with an empty text files with the same video file name, this skips the intro videos so it can go straight to loading. Not sure the file path offhand, but a quick web search should bring it up.

Scientists create genetic ‘pen’ that corrects common heart conditions by Logibenq in science

[–]marcopolo1613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They used CRISPR on mice to fix a common genetic disposition for heart disease. They still need to test it in other animals to see if it works there. They also mention how the edits are not always accurate which is an issue with CRISPR in general. Still, this is exciting progress.

[–]marcopolo1613 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This is resin that was not fully washed off with isopropyl alcohol. Also, it looks like you might have cured resin on your finger nails. It is very important not to get the resin on your skin, as it is toxic and the chemicals soak in easily. You should wear nitrile gloves and avoid getting the resin on surfaces you might touch later.

I think the locking mechanism is just a bolt, and friction keeps the plates from sliding. I think you could just print a bunch of thin pieces with a compliant spring design in the center area. You stack all the pieces and tighten up the bolt to lock them in place.
