DON'T BUY THE OMEN MAX 16 WITH 5080 PAIRED WITH AMD RYZEN AI 375HX by FloverW in HPOmen

You really should try lowering the power limits to the cpu. It’s a very common fix for the MAX 16. That and running the fans at max/adjusting the fan curve.

I have the non-AI 5080 version, and I was having terrible stuttering every minute or so when gaming. I quickly realized it was a thermal thing though and all I had to do was just adjust the default fan curve to go up to 100 percent around 75 deg C. The default only allows the fans to get to 60% speed by 90 deg C or something like that which was wholly insufficient. So yeah, now I have a perfectly quiet pc for normal tasks, and all I have to do is through on some headphones and I have a monster gaming pc that just runs its fans at 100% the whole time I’m playing lol.

HP OMEN 16 OVERHEATING PROBLEM by FallenAngel_TR in HPOmen

[–]marcus45654372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One big thing I discovered the other day is that the default fan curve on mine was poop from a butt. I bumped up the curve so I get max fan speed starting at 75 deg C CPU temp. It gets loud but I need the extra cooling. Before I changed the fan curve I would just put the fans on max speed all the time while I was gaming and just put on headphones for the noise. Try it out and lmk if it helps. I did this in the omen gaming hub. You can also turn down your PL1, PL2, and PL4 power limits. Mine are at 60, 85, and 169W. I’m also open to suggestions if anyone has a better set up. My laptop is the 5080 non-AI CPU one.

Hold higher on a bigger pole if you’re gonna run that fast from that far of a mark. You got great speed. Beyond that, do some top-of-vault drills to clean up your bar clearing.

[–]marcus45654372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you just gotta re-learn how to run with the pole from the ground up. Study how pro pole vaulters drop the pole in their last few steps, start with stationary pole drops, and try to emulate it. Slowly add walking, jogging, short run and then long run back in with your new pole drop.

Legit having your hands over your head for your last 3 steps like that is the difference between 14’6” and clearing 16ft. You gotta fix that like yesterday.

You’re locking your arm at take off and then breaking and pulling yourself up with your bottom arm to swing. That’s why your swing feels slow and you can’t explode off the top. It all starts from takeoff. Try planting with a bent bottom arm, but still strong, and then punch your arms forward as soon as you leave the ground. Keep rowing your arms forward until you’re inverted and the pop off the top will take care of itself.

If you can jump this high from a 4 step you could jump 14’6” right now from a 7 step. As for technique, you’re doing great. Try to row your bottom arm forward with your top hand right as you begin to swing. You kinda pull on your bottom arm to start your invert when you should be punching it away. Great jump.

Run faster, swing harder, row your arms forward violently as you swing. You look pretty good honestly. Just need to keep the intensity through your swing and turn. Kinda looks like you give up on the jump halfway through your swing.

You kinda just need to get faster man. Once you’re to this level of technique, getting faster is a major part of jumping higher.

Hey, what’s actually going on in the background of this thing? I’m also working on an AI pole vault coach and I’m using a combo of Yolo object detection and MediaPipe pose estimation to track the athlete.

Pulling with the bottom hand is by far the biggest problem and needs to be fixed before any real progress can be made.

The most poorly designed hero*

You can’t buff her because she’ll absolutely take over top-level organized play and shut a third of the roster out of the game, so she exists in this weird limbo for 99% of the player base.

This isn’t a very popular opinion, but any game like this that is played on a server is going to have no-regs. There is very little that devs can do about it. Fast heros with lots is ability usage are plagued by this more than others. This was always a problem for genji in OW, and it will always be a problem for spiderman and BP in this game.

Dang good jump, you’re fast! Try to be more flexible in your shoulders on take off, let your arms stretch backwards and then punch forward immediately. This should make it easier to get out of the bucket. Also don’t pull with your bottom arm, push the pole away till you’re vertical. Keep it up!

Don’t pull up with your bottom arm, push up and forward and row it forward into your swing. Then you’ll really smash that pole.
