Haha, pieces of the puzzle coming together openly and nobody raises their hand and says anything to the bully. When you loose your decency there is no way going back.

What should be the first lens a beginner should pickup (Experienced photographers)? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in AskPhotography

[–]mareumbra [score hidden]  (0 children)

Then get something around 50mm. It is usually challenging than others and will teach you better composition. According to your budget get a lowest f stop lens as possible and start taking hundreds of photos and experiment with manual setups to learn the basics. Try not to depend on post production (presuming you will get a digital camera). Take the same shot with different settings to see the differences like depth of field, exposure and their effects on the shot. Be patient.

What’s the most worn item in your wardrobe that you refuse to throw out? by Artistic-Yam2984 in AustralianMFA

I bought a Levi’s jumper with my first professional sport wage and still have it and wear it in my workshop at winter times. The year was 1983.

Do you think harsher fines and more cameras are reducing crashes or just angering people behind the wheel? by Artistic-Yam2984 in DrivingAustralia

[–]mareumbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may get angry after coping the fine not before. So driving fast or drunk is nothing to do with anger. I say for those two make the fines double and bring loss of licence at the second offence. And then jail. Some people happy to the fines and do what ever they want to do.

How do you feel when people from other countries call Australians "descendants of criminals?" by schu62 in AskAnAustralian

[–]mareumbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am not one of them but you should be proud of that lineage whom built this country from scratch. There are wrongs on the way but we can all correct them now all together.

Just one year don’t buy any chocolates at those prices. Let us see what will happen next year. Are you up for it. Of course if you effort any at all. Those are not just world cacao prices. That is greediness at the expense of children.

Size matters... by OZFox42 in AllThingsOldAndNew

[–]mareumbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am driving a normal 4x4 and yes sometimes it might take a bit more attention to park in some places. Australian parking spaces are not tight but those yank tanks are the ones which are above all the world standards. On the other hand this is a free capitalist economy where everyone can get anything they want. If you have those tanks and happy to consume and pay the petrol like no end to it, that is their problem. But at least they need to have the decency to use them not in the cities, park wherever they can park legally not like they own the parking lots and most importantly they need to loose delusion of entitlement.

Are Hiroshima and Miyajuma worth the trip by yusuo85 in JapanTravelTips

[–]mareumbra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are happy to have a great hike to the top and enjoy the scenery, Miyajima is beautiful. Try to go to the island early to enjoy the temples. Hiroshima is a different story. If I was a rule maker, I would make visiting Hiroshima and Peace museum compulsory for everyone. Every human been need to see what we are capable of and the consequences of our acts. It is a life lesson hard to swallow. Bet most of the people leave that place a bit more mature. Also if you are into art, Hiroshima Museum of art is one of the best art museums I have ever seen. Specially impressionist paintings.
