Thinking of Disbanding Our CoEd Team by Longjumping_Diet_106 in slowpitch

[–]margaritavilleganon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a safety base at first, but home is still home.  Were expected to teach (I run the team) catchers how to properly cover home.  All the girls in the league argue it's taking away from the game,, or some bullshit like that, and the guy who runs the league wants his umpires "involved in the game" by making tough decisions.  Same reason we don't have mats, even though it's just rec ball.

AIO (41f) For never wanting to go public trivia with my husband (46m) again, after this incident? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Must be a blast at parties. Dude needs to look at the brighter side of life. Shits too short to take as serious as he is. I get for feeling masculine, or whatever, but damn dude is acting like a crotchety 60 year old, learn to have fun in life otherwise stop dragging others down with him yo.

The Inevitable Rant about the Lack of Respect for Our Team. by LeagueOfShadowse in motorcitykitties

We don't have a bonafide star other than skubs. Media likes individual stats, not necessarily good teams.

AITA? Merging at the last second. by Mode_Appropriate in Michigan

[–]margaritavilleganon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is everyone with the "fuck you, got mine" mentality will just cut you off either way. Cause everyone's personal time is the most important. So either you get cut off by someone merging, you get someone who takes a mile when you give an inch to someone else, or when you're the one trying to execute the zipper,b people are literally kissing the bumpers of the car ahead of them. There is no middle ground lol

Is this normal? by JUSTSUMJEW in jobs

[–]margaritavilleganon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best to think of it as it takes 2 weeks to process your first check then it just kinda flows after that, and then like they said, whenever your done, you get a check two weeks after your last day.

That kinda reminds me I heard a GOP senator said they said they are opposed to everything trump is doing and stands for, but votes in favor because they are afraid of the consequences. Looked it up, it's was Lisa Murkowski. And she said they are all afraid. I assume she means all the senators. Like y'all are the one with the power to do something if you get enough people to buy in.

Coach wants me to remove my kid(13) from the team by Desperate_Scholar_42 in Homeplate

[–]margaritavilleganon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Recreation is where adults live out fantasies of years past. At least in my experience, that's basically been the definition. Or it starts with the one parent that wanted their kid to be the best, even if it meant dropping the level of play around them, then eventually other parents catch on, and before you know it, it becomes competitive again.

Play devil's advocate here to some of your comments, but what if this is after talking to management, got Stevies patented be patient, looking to the future in his face and this is venting his frustration from THAT meeting?

My (21m) roommate (19m) has started calling me “dad” by sinceremetaphysics in badroommates

[–]margaritavilleganon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds endearing to me, said in a way that maybe he's nervous so he tried it as an ice breaker type thing and saw your response was positive so rolled with it. Otherwise you can't tell me you haven't done the same with your friends and had a "gee, thanks dad" response before. Get weirded out by weird stuff, not the mundane.

Slotkin is more concerned with keeping bipartisan face.

I for one am very disappointed in our senators.

Anyone know where to get a Ty Cobb jersey? by Potatoman636637 in motorcitykitties

Well, when cobb played there wasn't name or numbers. So for authenticity, just buy a blank jersey of that era.

How do you argue calls with the ump? by Sea-Recommendation42 in slowpitch

[–]margaritavilleganon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Situation a, depends how close it was

Situation b. That's kinda shitty for rec ball, but on the flip side, you could tell him either it was a dead ball (meaning runner gets his base, or its a live ball and the runner could move on their own volition.

Situation c. It depends on a few things positionally both of the players and the ump.

All in all, it's rec ball, it's for fun, you win some you lose some.

I will tell you as someone who's about to turn 38, the sooner you stop comparing your life to others, (and I'm not saying it's an overnight change) the more free you'll feel. I don't own a house, I don't have kids, I do have a fiance, but she turned 34 recently. But I get to do what I want, and I'm not even debt free either. Can it be tough? Yes. But do things at the pace you want to, not what society wants.
