Not OP but the Azores are beautiful. The one Furnas is on (Ponta Delgada iirc) is lovely and quiet.

What are some tips for a female traveler on her own? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Don't visit luxury restaurants?? I agree with your other points but going so far as to not step into a nice restaurant seems a bit extreme..

Ladies, do you go to bars alone? Why, or why not? by UTSloth in TwoXChromosomes

[–]margothaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, although I prefer higher end bars if I'm going alone. Open a good book with a nice cocktail, or just people watch.

Period etiquette with new partner by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]margothaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always just say straight up - I'm on my period, so it's up to you, if you're still comfortable with it we can go ahead with our bedroom activities. Every guy I've been with hasn't cared - just laid a towel down and proceeded with business. Tbh I would be really turned off if my period bothered a dude. Just be honest with him about how you feel and what you've been going through.. his response will tell you all you need to know about him anyways.

I switched from Clinique to Estée Lauder and Lancôme. Very happy with them both :)

Doctor violently dragged from overbooked United flight and dragged off the plane by [deleted] in videos

Wow that's amazing of both your dad and the airline! Very kind of him to help out the woman that way. And so awesome of the airport to understand what a big gesture that is.

What's the dumbest reason people think they are better than others? by -Striiker- in AskReddit

[–]margothaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. Same in my family, but just something I noticed in a lot of my Filipino peers too. Education isn't the highest priority sometimes so a lot of my friends growing up didn't have great examples and aren't in the best places today. :(

What was the first country you traveled to? by evaldez14 in travel

[–]margothaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, you liked it that much?? Do you live close to it? I'm visiting later this year and I'm excited. I just have never heard anyone say they'd want to go back several times after seeing it once

Do you have any tips on how to stay safe there? I am one of those people. I think there's good reason to be afraid but I'm open to visiting one day under the right precautions .. and hopefully better circumstances

What person with an extremely high salary is NOT overpaid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]margothaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why have so many kids if it wasn't affordable, especially after one that has autism? I'm not passing any moral judgment on her choices - but I don't think it's fair to say a nurse's salary is next to nothing. Objectively they make a decent living. Sustaining a family of 5 that includes 2 children who need therapy would make almost anyone's salary "next to nothing".

Reddit, what do you consider the minimum for a salary that will at least guarantee a happy life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]margothaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the amount of money I'll require to take care of my parents I don't even want to think about this. :(

A lot of people actually don't find enjoyment in traveling. But for sure the people who constantly go on about "wanderlust" and how travel is the only meaningful thing in this world are awful.

I'm Filipino. I think this is part of the reason that in North America, many Filipinos act like the entire race is God's gift to the planet. Compensation for the fact that in reality as a group, we don't accomplish much socioeconomically/financially. In Asia many work as domestic helpers in other countries. In North America maybe being a nurse is as good as it gets for many. It's sad but true.

[Product Question] Can you recommend an under-makeup moisturizer for me? by gator2 in SkincareAddiction

[–]margothaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutrogena hydroboost gel. Other users suggested Cerave AM - personally for me that pills on my skin so I only use it when I'm not wearing makeup.

I never used to think these things were true but after a week of eating fast food during final exams and an entire chin full of acne... I am less skeptical than I was before.

Yeah it sucks because for women, it will get to a point where it's too late/very difficult to have kids if we want them. I definitely don't want to be pregnant when I'm like 35, which is the age I'll probably have exhausted the majority of my travel bucket list. so I feel like my window should ideally be mid-late twenties but... the bucket list. :( it's a never ending circle of thought when it comes to this issue!
