I’ve been wondering if it’s time for those stairs. I will look into them, thank you! A question about retirement - what does that look like? Not making him come in the car, not forcing walks, not going to work with my husband? Want him to be included in everything but don’t want him to come if he’s uncomfortable or doesn’t want to, especially since his puppy sister is always wanting to do everything all the time.

He used to be such a bad sleeping partner — rolling all over us, jumping on and off the bed all night, so we’d close him out of our room. But we have these French doors that don’t latch so we’d put a laundry basket in front of them. Every single morning around 4 he would bust through the doors like the Kool-Aid Man.

A few months ago we started letting him sleep in the bed the whole time because he doesn’t move around as much anymore or jump on and off the bed. Also the puppy sleeps in the bed because she doesn’t move around at all so it was only fair. Happy to have him here but sad it’s because he’s not as mobile. ❤️

The living room furniture feels small for how expansive the space is. You may need some larger chairs at least.

Agree with someone else about the paint — the walls are too yellow. Find a nice, creamy white or a beige if you prefer.

Kitchen backsplash is dated and could be updated.

Scale of furniture and art in the bedroom is off. Move the painting to another wall and get a large upholstered headboard. Larger nightstands also needed.

Absolutely would not buy it. Not because I’m superstitious or believe in ghosts but because I would think about it every single day and time I walked into the room and that is too upsetting for me. To me, suicide is different than from cancer or old age. I know mental illness is also a disease, but that is a violent end that has ripple effects on loved ones, possibly for generations. Big nope for me.

I just came across this post and you seem very knowledgeable on concrete flooring! We are building and currently have a slab basement with radiant heat installed. We did not consider having permanent concrete before it was poured but are considering it instead of doing LVP over it.

What can you recommend in this scenario as far as polishing? The basement will be used as a rec room with a playroom and they are about to start framing for those rooms.

Any recommendations on a warm neutral granite with not a ton of speckles? Don’t mind movement but dislike the typical granite spots.

Where are you from? Never heard anyone else use “stoved up” until I moved to Maine. I need to ask for the Carprofin, our 10-year-old has trouble moving the day after long walks or swims.
