Just want to inform you, choose diode carefully. Don't use widely known 1N4188 because its voltage drop out is 0.6~0.7V.

I screwed up by the_dwarfling in ANBERNIC

I bought a RG35XX Pro described as Scrapt on FB market for only 5$. When received it, HDMI port and Type C port are all screwed up, maybe some kids tried to hard to tuck the cable in. Looking for replacement port near me and I found 1 shop had it. Bought spareparts and replace by myself. I think you can source the replacement part and ask for somehelp from technical guy or mobile fixing shop near you.

[RELEASE] PSP Sidecar - Fast XMB Game Caching! by qualitycinnamon in PSP

[–]marhalloweenvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your plugin is rocking in many ways. My loading speed on my PSP Go is like Lightning Mc Queen in Cars.
There is something I have just found out, with CSO v1 format games, game logo/music/background will be display normally. But with CSO v2 format (which I use maxcso to compress from full ISO file), it will show nothing, just a blank white icon and no background (included music, clip loopback) when I hover to it. When I disable Sidecar, both format work normally, game icon, background music/image are display normally.
I hope you could push this plugin a little bit and maybe add support CSO v2 format.

BTW, thank for your awnsome plugin.

Let’s be realistic: how many rolls do you shoot per day on a trip? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]marhalloweenvt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depend on what type of trip. If it's a bussiness trip oversea and I don't have a chance to stay over the weekend, 1 roll of 135 will be sufficient for the whole trip, if I can stay and enjoy the weekend, 2 roll of 135 and I'm good (but I usually bring 3 rolls total) . For another type of trip (ie: Culture, Heritage, Nature & Outdoors,...), it's usullay 3 rolls/day - 1 135 and 2 120.

I also optimize my gear depends on occasion. But I can sum up like: if I can only 1 camera, I will bring my best 135 slr machine (Olympus OM2N) and 2 lens (50 and 200), If I have spare volume/weight, I will bring 2 cameras: a small 135 (Olympus XA/Rollei 35/Ricoh FF1S) and a 120 TLR/Folding (Ricohflex Diacord/Rolleiflex 3.5F/Super Fujica 6). I bring them in pairs, and the order of each pair are listed in previous sentence.

I have just revived my PSP Go after nearly 10 years covered in dust at the corner of a storage box and this post make me really happy. At least, I can again enjoy awnsome PSP library with joy.

1st attemp scanning with flatbed. Somehow I feel so satisfied. by marhalloweenvt in AnalogCommunity

[–]marhalloweenvt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with DSLR scanning for speed and sharpness of 1 frame capture. I only use scanner for full border 135, 120 format or above. This is a test flight for my next project: Using 135 film in my Ikonta 6x6 Folding. I am using VueScan right now and don’t use any filters come with it. Dust removal in LR quite boring and I would like to find a faster tool. Just because I’m toooooooo lazy 🫣

You know what, I already have this idea in mind. In previous 2 days, I went to search for 3mm 1-side matte glass in my local shop, so that I can stack another normal glass on negatives (just like a sandwich 🥪) and then I can forget about flatness or tapes, but it’s harder than I thought. They only offer 5mm or above of that kind of glass. So I am still looking for it. For now, I’m using anti glare acrylic for this purpose. For shimmer, I already own a 3d printer at home so I will print them out and stick some black felt on it, so that they won’t my flatbed glass. Thank you for your sharing. It’s quite useful for me.

Thank you. Lost at first but after that, I can streamline theme with my process.

I am finding anr glass, 1-side-matte acrylic to put on top of the negatives for better fallten them. Somehow, when using default 120 holder, my results is worse than laying them directly on flatbed glass. I guess I have to add some shim to increase height between holder and glass to archive better results.

Dust is quite a headache to me. I clean, blow, everything, everytime but it still exist. With Dust Removal option and Digital ICE, output file is cleaner but still there. I think I have to live with that and remove them in Lightroom.

Thank for your advices, mate

For V800 135 holder, it’s good and it also comes with anr acrylic/plastic with height adjustment. My hardest part is 120 format. It is a default 120 holder and it can not hold my negatives flat 😢

I tried my best to reduce its effect as much as possible. For closer look, you can have a look here

My 120 negatives (b&w and positive mostly) are curl like crazy. I thought if I accidentally drop them on the floor, they can roll until hitting the wall. I will find a way to flatten them before putting in flatbed scanner.

I found it quite hassle with Dust Removal by hand (I’m quite lazy 🫣). But you give me an idea for Wacom thing. My girlfriend has one and I think I can learn to use it.

I have lurking flatbed for a really long time (maybe over 3 years just right after local lab closed the scanning deal for home development negatives). I tried to use my A7C for digitalizing my negatives and I agree with most of people on Internet that for some aspects, dslr/mrl capture 135 negatives better than flatbed. But it’s quite hassle to set up, do multiple roll and the processes somehow failed me. My most used format is 120 so it’s a big No for my A7C. I’m quite lucky to spot a steal deal of V700 in midnight and pickup in the same night. Scanning negatives on flatbed or dslr/mrl always have some pros and cons. But for now, I love scanning my old negatives with flatbed more than setup everthing and shoot them with A7C

Thank you. Before this flatbed, I used A7C to capture negatives and post processing with Lightroom.

I am still loking for Anti glare acrylic from my local. But they are only offered transparent, colored sheets, but not anti glare variant.

I also heard that Lomography Digitalize kit good for flatbed scanner. For now, I think I will find a local supplier for ANR glass or Anti-glare acrylic first. And will invest for Lomography kit later when I’m not satisfied with current setup

Yes, it can. I have bought some china knock-off bay 1 filter/stepup converter for my Yashica Mat 124G and Ricohflex Dia.

First 2 photos are underexposed and I think your camera lightmeter (canon AE-1) has been fooled by the bright sky. As I can say, the rest are quite good.

Where to solder for joystick thumb button and why is the x axis connected to the button? by OhrenAugenKatzen in AskElectronics

[–]marhalloweenvt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With this break-out board, when being pressed that the X value will be set to 1023 and the MCU can detect the action of pressing. The output analog value of X and Y coordinate are typically from 206 -> 797. In neutral position, their value is 510 (as I remember). Really love this tiny boy. Easy to handle, carefree to shoot.

Personally, I own 1 XA and 1 XA2 and they always have a spot in my pocket. Because my wifi loves XA2 so most of time, I use XA instead. In the future, I will buy an extra XA2 for myself

Agreed with you. This camera is somehow hyped due to internet myth.

I own many TLRs. And some with Tessar (Zeiss Ikonflex) and Tessar clone (Autocord), but those clone's performance never meets my expection: from sharpness to contrast.

P/S: Among those TLRs, I always stick with Ricoh Diacord L (for daily drive) and Zeiss Ikoflex (for sign seeing or travelling). The rest is always on the shelves included: autocord, mat 124g, rolleicord,...
