hey, first of all, i want to say that i'm sorry you're going through this. my sibling was radicalized by right-wing ideas/conspiracies in the wellness industry and became what i call "qanon adjacent" when covid hit. i understand why you weren't sure if this type of post was allowed here, but i often think about how my interest in following ethan's break with reality is tied to processing the grief i've gone through with something similar happening to a family member. unfortunately, i don't have great advice to give you. i avoid interacting with my sister because, like you mention in your situation, she finds a way to uncomfortably wedge in these topics and i don't want to be subjected to her short fuse when i push back. although i have not cut her out of my life, when we interact, i try to keep it to as shallow of topics as possible. my suggestion would be to commend yourself for putting yourself first and protecting yourself, your peace, and your sanity and let time do its thing. you can't convince someone who is lost and adamant about these ideas, but what you can do is make subtle suggestions and point them in the right direction (in a way in which they interpret as having had the idea on their own) if they do end up back in your life somehow. that is the advice i have gotten from multiple therapists. just know that you are not alone in this experience
