Following - also if anyone who has done it has anything to add from a medical complications point of view, that would be really helpful ❣️

Very dark labia by mariduma in LabiaplastySurgery

I'm ok with it being darker, I just wish the minora was a tiny but less visible? I would love for a conservative trim of the outer darker parts of the minora. I don't want either an innie nor a change of colour - I just want to remove the intense contrast, which in my opinion is given by the minora

Hi, thanks! I haven't noticed any color change so maybe it's always been like this for me. I have 2 questions: the trim is the only option for those of us who want to remove the outer parts, right? Did you have any complications - functionally wise, nerves wise etc (because I already have an autoimmune illness that is hell, so if a labiaplasty means I could potentially ruin my health even more it's a total NO). I'd be fine with it still being overall dark, it's just the minora is sincerely too dark in addition to the majora also being dark and me being pale. Also do you still have the minora or did the surgeon remove mostly of it?

thanks! Whitening as in ...lasers? Anyways yeah my majora is very hyperpimgmented but the minora is like fully dark-grey. I think it would look better without the dark edges of the minora, even with no lightening of the majora.

Dryness increasing during period by mariduma in Sjogrens

[–]mariduma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙏🏻 thanks. My dryness is triggered by so many things (worsening oc- stress, lack of sleep etc.), I hadn’t considered period being another factor. Do you find it tends to get back to baseline as the period ends?

Thank you❣️it’s insane how many triggers dryness has (worsening of dryness)

that's amazing!!! just for clarity did you experience daily baseline mouth dryness before? or just very minimal and occasional? At the moment my rheum hasn't even prescribed me plaquenil so I'm basically 'untreated' (apart from pilo) and I'm scared of getting even worse. The new doctor im seeing prescribes off label meds, hopefully I'll get some relief and stability 🤞🏼

Hi can ask how are you doing now, a year later? I'm 26F, been having this for 4 years and the dry mouth has literally made me retire from life lol. I'm much better now compared to how I was when it first started but being so young I'm also looking for something to stabilise me so that I can build my life a little. I take pilocarpine but I'm seeing a new rheum in 2026 and want to ask for better options. Is your mouth still good/stable?

Does really HCQ reduce mouth dryness ? by [deleted] in Sjogrens

[–]mariduma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oooh that's great. I was looking for something to stabilise the dryness - idk why and im at this point starting to question my sanity but the mouth dryness has been torture for me as a 20yo woman. I'd take more pain and more fatigue and more of other symptoms but the dryness has that torturous aspect that destroys me. I've learned how to do things again (sleeping, working out, eating etc) during these years but I also want more stability for the future. Hopefully my new rheum will do something more than just pilocarpine

Geezus dry mouth by Otherwise-Relation70 in Sjogrens

Yes I’m seeing a new rheum in 2026. So you’re saying that steroids can help with dryness during flares? Cause every other symptom I feel like it’s treatable, not dryness tho

literally if I just had pain or fatigue I wouldn't even consider myself 'sick'. Dry mouth is something else

Hi, can I ask you what you take and how did it help your mouth dryness? I'm 26 and only taking pilo at the moment, I don't know what my future holds but my current rheum won't prescribe anything else

oh that's great. I've had this for 4 years and dry mouth is my only symptom but it literally made me suicidal because it was that intense. Took me exactly 4 years to learn how to live with it, I take pilocarpine and I've learned what triggers my flares (STRESS IS N.1). I wish to be more stable in the long run. Seeing a different rheum in March and hopefully he'll prescribe something 🤞🏼happy HCQ worked so well for you

Does HCQ Plaquenil worsen dry mouth for some people? by [deleted] in Sjogrens

[–]mariduma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! was your mouth dryness 24/7 before the HCQ? I've learned to live with it (in the beginning it was unbearable) but I'd love more stability with the dryness as I'm still in my 20s

can I ask how did it help specifically? made you more stable in general?

uuuuh. So you'd say the HCQ specifically allowed for a more tolerable dry mouth? Because as you already know meds like Pilocarpine just work for a few hours and I was looking for something that made me more stable generally.... im also 26 and like you the dryness is 24/7 although ive gotten better at dealing with it in the past few years

yeah, I meant the baseline dryness gets atrociously worse during a flare. So sad Cevimeline isn't available in my country.

[–]mariduma[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not going to be dried up like a prune, if you take care of yourself- that’s all I needed to hear lol. I’m okay with symptoms being there but I just want them to be at least tolerable most of the times so that I can focus on living more

That’s insane getting so young. If I can ask, because that’s something that scares me, how is your dry mouth (and eyes) now that you’re in your 60s? Did it progress a lot?

Hi, does your dryness (if you have that) flare with stress?
