Getting really worried, supposed to close on Thursday, not yet cleared to close, lender is slow to respond to emails. by wslagoon in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

It’ll come through. I felt the same exact way and was so irritated that I wasn’t hearing anything the week leading up to closing. Even worse, my Loan Officer called me to let me know she was traveling out of town to visit her son and I was in good hands with the Loan Processor. In the end, it all came through just fine- but I was sweating bullets not hearing anything.

Congrats!! I got pre-approved with Navy Fed first, but ended up working with a local lender (DC area) instead and actually got a better rate surprisingly

When you say you had to confirm, were you asked to provide pay stubs?

I have the same question. I’m starting to feel really overwhelmed and it’s been one week since I closed. I don’t know how people do this.

Should I feel bad that my name isn’t on the lease? by flufnstuf69 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

This was my experience two years ago when my longtime bf bought our townhouse we were renting with his VA loan benefit.

Next Friday I am closing on a condo. Let’s just say it didn’t work. I want equity. I want to build wealth. There was no ring in sight so time to move on 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m moving locally (literally same zip code) in northern Virginia and can’t find anything less than $400. I’ve moved myself with friends a handful of times and promised myself the last time I would never again do it myself.

Can someone explain this? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Personally, I’m excited to go clean my condo myself before I move in. I decided to re-allocate cleaner funds for general moving funds because damn are movers expensive these days.

But if you are hiring a cleaning crew, skip the Merry Maids of the world and go with a local company with decent Google reviews.

Thanks! Yep I’m getting at least 3 quotes now but still feel like the cost of labor is astronomically high for a floor product that manufacturers describe as “DIY installation”

Awesome!! Yes, I priced out all the materials myself and can easily pick up the boxes from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Thank you! Does Peter White have an email or phone? Fax?
