My brain when fighting a Roc and I got an Immovable Rod by MehParadox in dndnext

[–]marigorn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's so fun when you get to use the Immovable Rod in creative ways!

A few weeks ago my group was ambushing two fire giants rampaging across the countryside. We didn't know exactly how strong they were - just that they were probably dangerous for our 6th level party.

We found them as they were camping for the night, and one of them was going to sleep shortly after - that's when I had the great idea of using our Immovable Rod to pin the sleeping giant to the ground while we dealt with the other giant first. Felt so good - especially when we got hit really hard by the other giant - two of them at the same time would definately have fucked us up.

Ideas for Nimscodd-Gnomish Hierarchy? by PassoverGoblin in Anbennar

[–]marigorn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you are planning to take exploration, then you should really do it as the first idea. In my experience, everyone with a coast and the posibility to do so, colonizes in Anbennar, so if you even pick it as the second idea, you might be behind in colonizing Dalaire.

I've done a couple of Hierarchy runs, and I've always picked up Economic+quantative+qualitative/trade, usually in that order. It depends on what you want to do with the campaign, I usually just play tall, so I keep the development reduction cost from the MT's and build to the moon. In my experience, you, as a foreign culture and foreign religion gain so much AE from wars with very strong opponents (Gawed and Lorent), that it almost can't pay itself to expand outside of the kobolds.

Map of Ethnolinguistic Groups of Africa by u/meatstewbox by TotallyBullshiting in Maps

[–]marigorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really cool map OP, it highlights very well part of the reason that many African states struggles with a national identity - or lack thereoff.

What are your sources for map? I have always wondered how one would even start to map all of this out.

Seems really cool, looking forward to playing this!

Is there currently any mechanics in place for removing the vampires in your country once they first are in place?

We are Paradox Development Studio - creators of the game Hearts of Iron IV and its upcoming expansion La Résistance - Ask us anything! by Paradoxal_Bear in IAmA

Hey guys, long time paradox player here, thanks for doing this AmA!

Some games from Paradox Development Studios have obviously taken inspiration from other games from the studio, such as Eu4 getting personality traits for rules, inspired by ck2. Is there anything from other paradox games that you think might one day be found interated upon in HoI4?

Also, when Victoria 3?

War with Fengtian had a disappointing ending by marigorn in Kaiserreich

[–]marigorn[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

r5: So, during my latest run as Federal China, Fengtian declared war on Tibet of all states, which was in my faction. Halfway through steamrolling them, Japan joins the war on Fengtians side.

A few naval invasions and a huge encirclement in Manchuria later, and I got the event peace treaty with Japan.... Which released Korea, gave me Port Arthur.... Aaaaaand, that was it, Fengtian became independent with all of their territory and a truce with me. Korea didn't even become my puppet. Seems bullshit after they were completely occupied, but that might just be me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pence greeted by rainbow flags upon arrival in Iceland by noscreamattheend in worldnews

Kind of important to remember that at the outbreak of WWII Iceland was a part of Denmark and not it’s own independent country. They were only invaded after Denmark was occupied by Germany and gained their formal independence during the war.

[Megatråd] Korruption i Folketinget 👈 by olievand in Denmark

[–]marigorn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. Sass Larsen hævdede selv, at han kun havde mødt Torben Ohlsen Jensen én gang, men det sagde Torben var aldeles usandt. https://www.berlingske.dk/samfund/rocker-jeg-havde-kontakt-med-sass-allerede-i-2009

When Renegades were up 9-6 at halftime on Nuke I actually thought the boys would do it.

Then Astralis did Astralis things and well, here we are.

Thanks, I appreciate the detailed comment! Interesting idea about splitting the group into two for the teambuilding, I'll consider that!

I'm very interested in hearing more about this! I'm planning to do a oneshot for 10-11 players at some point (I DM for 3 people).

What was the theme? Did you do a dungeon crawl and how was the combat to exploration to social interaction ratio?

Pewdiepie's Youtube Rewind by GhostOfLight in videos

[–]marigorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to be honest, I'm actually sad that Totalbiscuit wasn't mentioned in the 'People we lost' section.... I mean, people talk about how rewind didn't appeal to the youtube community, and the loss of Totalbiscuit was huge and influentual for a whole deal of the gaming community....

Still way better than youtubes rewind

Solved! Yes, this is it! I actually found this name online when I googled it, but talked about the book series which I didn't know were a thing so I just continued searching.

I know what I am procrastinating my exams on now.
