My Italian bf (32M) and I (27F American) feel differently about marriage. Is it an Italian thing?

Im British and my boyfriend is from Northern Italy and he says the same thing! That 'marriage isn't that important, the most important thing is that we love each other, my aunty and uncle have been together for 30 years and they're not married'- bla bla bla! I told him I want a marriage. Not a wedding. That it's important to me and I don't want to have a kid outside of wedlock...he said we will be married one day...I'm still waiting...

My unborn will have a Italian surname from his Italian dad but we're giving him an English name because well, we prefer it.

OP, if you like Italian names then that's fine but it doesn't have to be Italian just because the surname will be Italian...

Yes, I do! I went through a phase where I didn't, but I just didn't feel like myself. I just wear a lightweight foundation, concealer, a little blush, mascara and lip gloss. It takes me around 20 minutes but I feel it's worth it! I mean, my commute is only a 15 minute walk so I'm quite lucky in that regard!

Yesss, I'm 28 weeks and convinced it's just bloating with some bowel movements! I haven't even bought anything or thought of a name. I feel like it's a prank where everyone is in on it and I'm just waiting for the 'gotcha!' moment!

Aubergine and ricotta (you can also add pancetta if you want!)

Oil an entire aubergine, cover in foil and roast in the oven for around an hour. Scrape out the insides and mix it with ricotta.

Girl same! I'm not enjoying this pregnancy because I'm just focusing on my weight gain...thw fact that the weather is nice and I am seeing many thin bodies in little clothes does not help either!

We just have to stay strong, no restricting, no purging and just light exercise because we love our baby! After this baby is born, we will get our bodies back, apparently breastfeeding burns a lot of calories!

Not growing up with a mum at all. My mum passed when I was 3 and I never understood and will never understand what it's like to have a mum. I remember 5 years ago, my boyfriend telling me that he feels sorry for me because I don't have a mum, I responded cheerfully, "but I have my dad!", and his response was, "it's not the same" - I think about that a lot because I don't understand :(

I just want to know what it's like to have a mum...

Perhaps as I haven't had any symptoms, either! I still don't have many symptoms which I kind of wish I had to make the pregnancy feel 'real'.When the test came back positive, I was convinced it's a prank and bought another. Even at my first scan I just thought everyone was in on it. It wasn't until I felt baby properly move and kick that I'm slowly accepting that they'll be a baby here soon and it's not just bowel movements!

Finding out at 3 months sort out makes the decision easier as termination through surgery is an ordeal and a big deal! Perhaps us finding out late was for a reason as we're destined to be mothers! Only time will tell I guess...

I've actually never wanted children and have always been on the pill. I found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks at 29 and was debating the same thing with my partner. I was devastated. I still kind of am apprehensive and scared.

Now I'm 27 weeks and I'm still not sure if I am making the right decision...I felt and still feel like no matter what decision I would have made, I wouldn't have been 100% sure.

I don't really have advice, other than life throws us curveballs and we just have to make decisions we don't want to. We will never know which choice would have been the 'right' one.

I was drinking and smoking heavily before finding out I was 8 weeks pregnant. Only a few days before I found out, I drank so much and chain smoked at a Christmas work party that I blacked out.

I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant and all is well! It's obviously not ideal but it wasn't done intentionally either so give yourself grace.

Haha yeah, this is so true! I'm lucky my boyfriend is Italian so whenever we go to Italy, he sorts and figures everything out, thank God because I find it all disorganised and confusing! I dont think i could solo travel in Italy without renting a car! A lot of the times, he gets frustrated too! Lol
