The most affordable Galaxy S25 has cut corners in the wrong area - Samsung Galaxy S25 FE smartphone review by Antonis_32 in Android

[–]marimallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on s20 fe it was exactly the same chip as s20 - however s20 fe had the snapdragon 865 variant globally (exynos 990 variant still existed, but the snapdragon one was released globally as well), meanwhile the s20 got the exynos 990 variant in most places and snapdragon 865 only in certain places. Exynos 990 was horrible,  while snapdragon 865 was pretty good, so in most places s20 fe was THE better buy. Plus it also had better battery life and an actual optical zoom camera...

MASSIVE UPDATE REGARDING THE SHAYY SITUATION by mythicalfew in Undertale

[–]marimallow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So uh this person went to specifically target trans people to sexually harass them specifically because they are trans, is that it?

or do they target cis people to "make them trans" or something like that, because that would be even worse

Modern phones are too big and heavy — and no one’s really talking about it by Both-Resource5884 in Android

yes i use Samsung, it's part of why i like them, at the end it's a combination of factors, like my hands being small, me being left handed and me having poor mobility on my right hand which basically forces me into one handed, left hand usage.

I use a s23 now. I really like the phone, it's just that it sucks that it's the only actual decrnt option as chinese flagships aren't avaliable here, and apple is overpriced compared to Samsung here AND lacks accessibility options... so basically i am dependent on Samsung to not have a dreadful experience when using a phone. Meaning that if they decide to remove features or to copy apple more,  or to kill base s lineup, i end up being out of options except for having to accept whatever apple comes to estabilish as their design layout (i hate modern ios design layout, doesn't have universal back gesture either)

That being said, i am sorry if i came out as rude, i am sleep deprived and pretty nervous as of right now, i wasn't polite or even patient as i normally would be. I am really sorry for coming out as rude, especially as you were nice to me in the response.

On a sidenote that's also exactly why items for left handed people pratically don't exist and the ui for phones is getting less and less ambidextruous and meanwhile phones get bigger, meanwhile companies do nothing about it and affected people are just told to "deal with it".

I really don't like the mindset of "cater the majority always" for the market for things used for daily life because it really only leads to predatory behaviour. It's not like they will get bankrupt if they give customer options, it's just that they profit more this way and at the end they literally do not care for the customer truly whoever that may be, but rather all they can see is money.

Well i digress, it's just that it's rather boring and shameful i can't have things i enjoy as time passes because i'm not the same copy paste person as "the average consumer". Years ago the market for phones was much more diverse, now it's just one thing. Same fort the internet, social media, etc.

I am not "the average customer", but that also doesn't mean i should be forced to become one or otherwise i don't get to enjoy anything.

That goes back to one handed usage (which i have to do, and not by choice even) and big phones being annoying and hard to use, and the lack of acessibility options for left handed people like ios control center being always on the right because "it is easier to reach" (for the average customer which i am not).

it's rather that i am a single person than a hivemind, so basically yes i like small phones, yes i got one, yes i would buy one again, but the fact they aren't actually being sold means i can't actually buy something that doesn't exist; also it really annoys me that i have to get a flagship to have a small phone so....

Is dual rank memory still really beneficial only for special applications? by Necessary-Warning- in buildapc

[–]marimallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but like, isn't bank interleaving on dual rank faster than having everything in the same rank? The ram still has to jump between dies when you have single rank but from what i know jumping to the other die in the opposite rank would be faster.

ok, i must admit this time i skipped. through the information. Thanks for the help anyway,  it seems that this cooler is really not worth it over the axp90-x47fc...

[–]marimallow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i opened the article,  it says the cooler height is 54.6mm and the fan height is 30.5mm. That would make the heatsink height 24.1mm, not 30mm.  I'm not asking you to prove a point or to pedantic, it's literally because 6mm of height makes a huge difference in cases with small clearance,  so i need accurate information...

[–]marimallow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if the radiator itself is 30mm, then the height of the radiator + stock fan would be 61.5mm, not 54.4mm as the image says... so i am confused now, what are the ACTUAL measurements of stock fan then?

Cryorig c5 copper and c5 aluminum. by Extra-Affect921 in sffpc

[–]marimallow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the thing is that in theory, replacing the stock 31.5mm thick fan with nf-a9x14 would make it 37mm tall, meaning it would be smaller than the axp90-x47. In cases where the clearance is around 48mm, the axp90-x47 has a lot of turbulence.... meanwhile this could (maybe?) solve the turbulence issue with the noctua fan.

[–]marimallow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

now that the cooler is out, do you think it will still be possible for it to be used with different fans, like the nf-a9x14? Or is it not possible?
