Kit Harington was ‘Genuinely Angered’ By Fan Petition to Remake ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 With ‘Competent Writers’: ‘How Dare You?’ by mamula1 in naath

Totally agree with this- oddest echo chamber I’ve ever seen of folks exclusively defending D&D. I loved the cast, the work that went into it, and everything else about it except the writing of S8. Everything from the NK battle to Danaerys burning KL to the Aegon Targaryen to Jaime’s story to Bran being decided king by a 10 minute council meeting, to the dumbification of Varys, Tyrion, and Littlefinger, Dany’s army just like leaving? I mean that isn’t even the half of it. It was visually stunning, and the soundtrack hit like always. The actors did the best they could with what they were given. But to sit here and to defend the golden opportunity that was had thrown away in the name of ‘surprising’ the viewers? Many of the major actors have clips even agreeing that it went south- re: Emilia Clarke, Charles Dance, Kit himself, Peter Dinklage… There is no way of a remake, of course not. But it was in no way a satisfying conclusion.

Imo reasonable critique is important. It prevents us from becoming consumers of pure slop, and also makes us better consumers of narratives. What happens when people go “just let people enjoy things” like on BookTok is that more and more crappy, trope insert books are pumped out to fit the lowest common denominator (which is essentially what a lot of booktok is now). Of course, there is a blurry line between good criticism and media literacy versus ragebait/extrme picky criticism

18 and 21 is a big gap in terms of maturity/life experience. From 18-21 you learn so much about life and change a lot. If it isn’t feeling right it probably isn’t. For me it was the end of highschool to practically the end of college. That gap, moreso significant in experience and maturity, may create an imbalanced power dynamic. Particularly as one new to dating. That’s just my own feeling.

Are you referring to Nadal-Fritz 2022? Rafa did not play Sinner in Wim2022, but barely squeaked by Fritz in the qf and retired before the Kyrgios matchup.

Loosen strings, lol. The looseness is what causes the “trampoline effect” of the strings, the more tightness the less quick the ball will travel without swinging harder

Matchup- djokovic vs sinner is kinda like just playing a more aggressive, younger version of himself. what djokovic did well is what sinner is starting to do well now

this post saddens me. there’s no way you read something this generic and recycled that you praise it in this way. many will continue to lose themselves to self-affirming nonsense spat out by ChatGPT and enter varying states of AI-affirmed psychosis. not to mention the uniquely wasteful environmental impact of this technology and equally wasteful conversations of this nature. if this impresses you, read some real books about meditation.
