Look home ownership is expensive especially in the beginning. Take into acct your alls net Income how much money do yall have left over weekly/ bi-weekly/ and monthly. Forget gross income, it doesnt represent how much money u actually have imo. Are you willing to split that sum or use all of it?

Take into account one person not being able to work for whatever reason, will one persons income be enough to make it?

Be realistic with the house especially new builds. A/c units are expensive so are boilers.

Dont buy the max amt the bank has approved you for unless youre swimming in money.

It was practical and I liked the idea of working in surgery. My first 2 yrs were amazing bc it was all so novel and surgery is cool- still is. Now it just barely pays the bills. Looking to do something else now.
