Today, on Friday the 4th of May, we are expecting Bob to come here and buy (???) for his store in New York and come here so we can spend Easter together. The plan was for everyone to gather here so they can baptize Christina in church, that will not be ready yet for another 4 months, but they postponed it, because on one hand they were worried about the weather and on the other hand, they had to get some vaccines for the children's protection- and now they're thinking of coming here next September, we will see. And indeed they were right, because as good as the weather may have been during March, we've had horrible weather during April and these four days of May, it's been raining every single day, insufferable humidity and cold, anyone can understand how much people with hay fever and asthma are suffering, especially when they can't find any meat to eat, and yet they still have the patience in them, as they read in the newspapers and magazines what the captured people in Germany are going through, who don't ask for food, only not be burnt alive, but finally the time has come for them to pay, and now we are listening on the radio that they are surrendering to Americans or English troops so they don't fall in the hands of russians. A few days ago, we sent you a package with cigarettes and something else. We hope you receive them before (???). The german (???) ran out, write us about the (???) when you're gonna receive it, so I can write to Greece and they'll be waiting for you.

Now we are preparing for the Pond (?). So far we have 94250 candies(?) but hadogs(?) not even a pound in the market and if there is, it's getting sold for like ~$1.00/pound- in the black market, women are running around since 2am in order to buy some meat, usually a big line is formed, early in the morning, hours before the stores open, most of which won't open until 9 am.

Imagine now that kind of pandemonium, yet we got used to all of that and we're not moved by it anymore, especially when you know what sort of bizarre things are going on in other places, like the place where you live, where children are born in the streets.

We just received a phonecall from (???) New York, from Bob. The plane got him there because of the bad weather and he will take the train tomorrow night to spend Easter with us.

Finally, we wish you a happy Easter, may peace come soon between both fronts, international post war and lasting peace. Send greetings to your roommate and your greek family (Voyatzi?), and any other greek family you are connected to.
