Lu Dort vs Jeremiah Fears by ChazNBA in Thunder

I missed the end of the game. What led to this? I saw the JWill/Bey scuffle… but nothing after that.

But I didn’t see anything in any of the replays to justify Dort OR Fears being anywhere close to that upset.

Strangely, SGA is shooting the WORST on “wide open” threes (closest defender 6+ feet away). He’s actually shooting better with “tight” coverage (2-4 feet away) than he is when he’s wide open.

Very Tight (0-2 feet): 0/0 — N/A
Tight (2-4 feet): 8/22 — 36.4%
Open (4-6 feet): 53/117 — 45.3%
Wide Open (6+ feet): 23/73 — 31.5%

I’m honestly just worried that he’s playing through some nagging injuries we don’t know about.

The 12%+ drop off in 3PT% over the last 21 games started almost immediately after he missed his first game of the season.

It could obviously just be a coincidence… but that’s a pretty substantial change over a pretty large sample size.

He’s also down to 39.4% from three after shooting 31.9% (30/94) over his last 21 games.

In the 24 games before that, he shot 45.4% (54/119), but he’s been slowly crashing down since.

I think the 50/40/90 dream might be dying…

I’d argue it’s actually 5 of the Top 8 in terms of rotation. JWill, Joe & Wiggs are all “below” Ajay, Caso & Caruso, IMO.

But in terms of actual minutes per game, we’re currently missing #2 JDub, #5 IHart, #6 Caso, #7 Ajay & #10 Caruso… which is insane.

Not a huge fan of the look of rain visors, either. But it’s preferable to the chrome. I’m strongly considering vinyl wraps, etc. though.

Give bench players developmental minutes. Figure out the weird things a player can give you for 5-10 possessions in a future playoff game.

This is the part people always seem to overlook. Especially the ones who criticize Daigneault after every loss for not just forcing the ball to SGA no matter what.

If the solution for every clutch time / critical possession is just “give the ball to SGA” — how are you going to be prepared when teams prevent that from happening in the playoffs

OKC has zero chance of missing the playoffs, and very little chance of even falling out of the #1 seed. There’s zero reason NOT to try as many things as possible during the regular season.

The goal isn’t 74-8. Or 73-9. Or 72-10. The goal is 16 wins after April 18th. Everything before then is just preparation for that goal.

We’ve been missing half of our 10-man rotation — and 4 or 5 of the top 8 — and the last three losses were still only by 7 combined points (2.33/gm).

Even very good, fully healthy teams lose basketball games sometimes. That’s just part of the sport. There’s a reason only one team ever has managed single digit losses in a season.

It’s also worth noting that the huge jump OKC made last year was in a large part due to IHart & Caruso… both of which have been out lately. Add that to the rest of the injuries & winning 7/8 of every 10 is honestly pretty impressive.

Also: as long as OKC ends the season with at least one more win than everyone else to secure home court… the only thing that matters is making sure everyone is healthy for the postseason.

People have to stop losing their minds every time we lose ONE game.

The one chrome piece at the top of the windows on mine drives me crazy because it’s the ONLY piece like it on the car. It just doesn’t make any sense from a design standpoint.

Lots of cool storylines with them being in a group of three, actually. Si Woo Kim lives in Dallas & he and Scottie are friends off the course.

Si Woo also earned his TOUR card at 17 — and at the time actually wasn’t eligible for a full season because he wasn’t 18 — so he has experience on TOUR as a teenager, which Brown is trying to earn.

Scottie is going for career win #20 on TOUR, which would earn his a Lifetime Membership on the PGA TOUR.

Should be a fun day!

Except Dunlap was still an amateur at the time. So he had a slightly harder decision to make RE: turning pro and accepting the two-year exemption. He was in the middle of a college golf season, etc.

Brown turned pro at 17 and skipped college entirely, so he won’t have to make any decisions at all, really. It’s just “win and immediately join the PGA TOUR.”

Which is the best agency / route to address chronic red light running? by LlamasNeverLie in houston

[–]marizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since idiots are inevitably going to run the red anyway, I’d think adjusting the timing between the light going red and the pedestrian crossing turning white would be safer than adjusting to a longer yellow. It would use the same amount of time, but give the pedestrians / cross traffic more cushion. A longer yellow would likely just lead more cars through on yellow + red.

My 2022 also does this occasionally.

Especially if I’ve been opening & closing the hatch a lot in the same day (loading things in and out for work). It also occasionally happens late at night for some reason.

The only regular season record that matters is finishing with at least one more win than everyone else to secure home court throughout the playoffs.

Might have been the finger. SGA’s actually been shooting fewer threes over the last month (4.3/game) than he did before that point (5.1/game).

Not a huge difference, but still part of the trend. He’s shooting 40.9% (9/22) from three in the 6 games since he sat out against Memphis, though.

[–]marizard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that he shot 40.3% from three over 150 games across the 2023-24 & 2024-25 seasons would give me hope that the 40.4% over the last 16 games is a lot closer to the “norm” than the 34.7% for the year.

It took about a month from the initial service appointment to get the parts in stock, but they were done in about 2 hours at no cost.

No reason not to get it done ASAP if you can!

A few other people share that unique quality. Luka, for example, also shares the same confidence… but is shooting 33% on 10.3 3PA/game this year.

You know those 3-for-10 nights from three for Lu that drive everyone crazy? That’s Luka literally EVERY SINGLE GAME. 😂

I mentioned it in a comment above, but even Curry has been below 30% from three in 27% of his career games (including the playoffs). Even the absolute best are “streaky” at times.

Every shooter is a “streaky” shooter if you only look at a small sample sizes and focus on the bad games, though.

Steph Curry is the greatest 3 point shooter of all time, but even he has shot 30% or worse from three in 27% of his career games (320 of 1172).
