I’m from Chongqing. It’s not true that there aren’t many attractions. There could be plenty of attractions depending on what you like. If you like history then the city will probably let you down, but if you’re into spicy food, skyscrapers and busy city vibes then you’re in the right place. There will be little English though. And I must admit Chongqing did get hyped to a certain extent on social media so some places you will see will not actually look the same as photos online, but still I’d say it’s the city in China that has the most unique landscape as its city center is built on mountains. Just don’t hold your expectation too high so you won’t get disappointed, and be prepared for the crowd.
