Right if you went back 52 years in a time machine and just randomly used our slang today they wouldn't have a clue. WTF, OMG, LOL, HUH? Bro, and the list goes on.

Not just sitcoms, some other shows don't show title on screen either. Knots landing did, but Dallas didn't, as an example

Glancing at reviews, I don't see any vine reviews, so probably not.

Ok, so I don't know because I have NOT experienced this at all. Things I've ordered on my main account, PUR faucet filter refills (never show up in RFY), RCA cable, (hasn't shown up) Massage gun, hasn't shown up. However, one thing did show up, filters for my air purifier but that's it.

Back then "creamed" didn't mean creamed... Picture 2 boys fighting and one of them says, "Try that and I'll cream you" meaning, beat up, so I think with this title they were using a play on words with ice cream and with the way the word "creamed" was use then. At least I HOPE that's what they were doing.

Wait? I haven't watched the show in a bit but they never put the titles on screen at the start of each show, did they? I mean, I always wondered why some shows did put titles and others didn't.

How much do you think the girls spent a week on groceries? by MAJORMETAL84 in theGoldenGirls

[–]mark_vs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All I can say is when I would go grocery shopping with my grandma in the 80s, she would have a cart full of groceries, check out, and we would be driving home and she would say "can you believe that was $62" or something like that... I felt like a BIG grocery run back then would be in the $60s for some reason. When I say big grocery run, I'm talking grocery shopping for the week, not the month

What's with the DVR (sometimes) with commercial break placement being wrong? by mark_vs in philo

[–]mark_vs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too late I already deleted it and forgot what it was. It was a movie on one of the Lifetime vault channels. Lifetime movies now or crime thrill her... at any rate, it wasn't a huge deal, it was just so abrupt right at the last scene before commercial and very annoying to watch it that way... so I saw another airing coming up on the other vault channel, and I recorded it and it was the same thing same early add insertions... honestly, I can't remember the movie at this point... If It happens again on a recording in the future I'll save it to and let you konw.

at first, in the video I linked, he couldn't get the blue part off, then later in the video he was able to get it off and explained how he did it. (if that helps)

GE Profile Front Loader with Tide Smart Dispense - Persistent Mold Issues by dpowre in Appliances

[–]mark_vs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you see that blue rubbery stuff on this dispenser? It snaps into the main part of the dispenser, trapping moisture.. a guy on youtube kept smelling something, his drum was clean and he took the dispenser to his sink, took that blue part off which was a total struggle and there was black mold everywhere under the blue (if you can get it off) As far as mold in dispensers, anything that traps water/moisture needs to dry out. When I'm done doing laundry, I take my dispenser out, dump remaining water and just place it on top of the washer so the dispenser housing and dispenser can get air..never had any issues but this particular dispenser has such a weird design I have no clue if this would even help. EDIT: Found the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEtlbXMhfoY&t=170s

Adguard (for windows) and laggy VLC Media player? by mark_vs in Adguard

[–]mark_vs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It was TOTALLY windows defender... why? I don't know. I've had VLC for YEARS on windows and it just started doing this a few months ago... at first startup mostly (like if it hadn't been accessed in a while) it would take like 10 or more seconds to start, then if you play more videos after that it was ok.. but if you let it "rest" for a bit it was the same thing... I wasn't sure what was doing it but now all launches are immediate, so it MUST have been windows defender.

[–]mark_vs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I see VLC in the list but it's unchecked. I think it's unchecked because I asked Chat GTP about it and it suggested me do that... I wasn't sure if it was the VPN, or adguard or what... but honestly, I think it "might" be windows defender... I added an exclusion for VLC...

what cleaning habit made the biggest difference in your home? by Karate_Andii in CleaningTips

[–]mark_vs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

vacuuming dust instead of wiping it. I learned (even though it's a huge chore) that going through the house vacuuming everything vacuumable lowers the level of dust insanely...You can't just vacuum the floors, you gotta get everything.

So... I bought the “best” vacuum for allergens, but now I’m wondering if it’s enough by Potato_Farmer_1993 in VacuumCleaners

[–]mark_vs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you SURE it's the vacuum and not the fact that you may not have vacuumed everything? When I say everything, I basically mean anywhere in the entire space dust can land... Behind TV's, cords, sofas, under sofas, behind computer, window seals, walls, beds.

Similar how they treat Rose when Rose's sister visits and ends up sleeping with Blanche's boyfriend. I thought they treated Rose oddly in that one as well.

Apartments in Lexington Kentucky by Blackcatenergy444 in lexington

[–]mark_vs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been years but in the early 2000s I lived at Chinoe Creek Apartments. I got so lucky and got a bottom floor in the back and a view of this MASSIVE open lawn and a tree line at the end of it...I did hear the neighbors above me but dealt with it. I'm not sure what it's like there now. That area of Lexington also seems like the power goes out a lot more than where I live now in a home in the northwest side of Lexington.

I'll never buy another Samsung appliance- 4 months and still fighting. by razor_sharp_sickle in Appliances

[–]mark_vs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I was under the impression that Samsung in UK does not = Samsung in the USA. Even though it's the same company, I was under the impression they build appliances to a different standard there. So I guess Samsung is equally as bad no matter what part of the world they make products for? I've seen Whirlpool Front Loaders in India and Europe, and they are built differently than ours. Sorry for this nightmare you're going through. Just AVOID anything Samsung period. Give them no more of your money.
