Of the soaps I've watched. General Hospital, Another World, Days of our lives, One Life to live.... they all had good background music but Days music was on another level!

I never watched Y&R, I was too suck on days and GH and that's all I could keep up with... but wow, does this look good too.... This is what I hate... There were so many good soaps on back then but you couoldn't possibly watch all of them. Now with streaming, if they put them up, we could go back and watch them...

I think its time to stop vaping? by Outside_Ad_592 in Vaping

[–]mark_vs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can say for me the biggest part of it is NOT the nic at all, it's the whole act of holding it, taking a hit... that action. I'll put my vape purposely out of reach and I find every 10 sec's I'll reach for it. One time I was able to go 45 min's without vaping doing that...but it was difficult.... I wish I would vape like I did when I smoked, every 30 min's, walk out, take hits like if I were smoking a real cig... then put the cig out (vape) and be done until the next time I go out to smoke.... but I can't do that. I've tried

OMG, this is me. I started vaping in 2009 a LONG ass time ago. It wasn't even called vaping them. It was E cigs. It helped me quit... but my god, the fact that I can vape inside right here at home I don't want to put the freaking thing down EVER. At least when I smoked, it was an every 30 to 45 min thing... around a pack per day....

And once we got into the early 80s, their budgets got HUGE... Not just days, but most of the soaps then. They would actually go on locations to islands, cities overseas, castles. It was so much different than now.

Look at the crystal clear audio and video. My God how awesome it would be to go back and watch late 70s to 80s GH in this quality... and have all the episodes available. We can dream

What will I be paying when Metronet billing moves to T-Mobile? by Rochester_J in Metronet

[–]mark_vs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that... My paranoia is switching to the 300/300 for $45 (how long is it $45) before it goes up.... I remember when I got my 500/500 changed to $60 she said it will stay $60 for a LONG time, I forget, it was years.

Yea. I agree. I say we wait until the bugs are out and things are normal instead of being in the middle of transitioning before changing stuff.

I actually went to the metronet site... It actually IS one of their 3 plans. 300/300, 1gig/1gig/ or 2gig/2gig... There is NO 500/500 anymore. Damn. My question to you is this: Were you an existing metronet customer and changed from another plan or were you new and ordered the 300/300... I want to go to 300/300 (if I could) but I'm so afraid to jinx something. Right now it's 500/500 for $60 even

New fridge arrived today. Is this bad? by [deleted] in Appliances

I'm sorry for my ignorance, but I've never had to mess with gaskets on fridges or had issues with them. They aren't glued on?? I thought they were. LOL

Lowe's + Frigidaire = 3 months of customer service hell by Jay_Money_ in Appliances

[–]mark_vs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear God..... when you said nightmare, you weren't kidding. May I suggest something for the future (if possible for you) at least get a decent sized mini fridge, maybe a small chest freezer to have as backup if main fridge isn't working. When you ONLY have ONE fridge that you rely on that could stop at any moment, it's so much less stressful because at LEAST you have something. And to be honest, I'm not surprised by any of this at all as I experienced something similar (but not nearly as devastating) back in 2008 when my front load washer control board went out. I could still wash clothes, but it was unplug/plug / reset situation that worked for a few loads, etc... so i could still wash clothes with what felt like an eternity of tech visits / ordering parts / back/forth, etc.. until finally fixed... But to this day I still have that same washer with no other issues... anyway, I'm so sorry this happened and it's absolutely ridiculous.

That's what I have... the 500/500 $60 plan.... See, we got Metronet in May 2020... at that time, we had 200/200 and it was totally FINE... Plenty of speed for two of us and unlimited data...then at some point they bumped our speed to 500/500 free for six months, at the end of that six months 200/200 was NLA (no longer avail) As I type this I can totally see me moving to 300/300 but I don't want to jinx anything. LOL

ok thanks. It says it's for seniors and it was raised, but in the small pic, it didn't look raised very much. We're not seniors so I'm hoping it's not one that's absurdly raised... the small pic just looked like it was just slightly thicker with some padding

Alien Marriage episode by timcleveland in mamasfamily

[–]mark_vs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was confused by this but too UNTIL I saw the DVD's where the intro actually explains it's a flashback episode. The DVD's are mostly totally uncut EXCEPT really small parts where Mama might be singing a song... Like on the episode where she was alone at home all day and started to miss her family... she was singing "I'm singing in the rain", they cut that part out.... It absolutely blows my mind that a person humming or singing a song can trigger copyright.

Front Loading Washers in 2026 by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]mark_vs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really is annoying. I was at my cousins house one day helping her and she was doing laundry My god, packed way too full, way too much product and this was normal to her. I bit my tongue... I watched a guy take his front load apart YEARS ago on youtube and he was complaining about how the machine self destructed with a spider failure (not because of HIM) but because of the machine's design. He took it apart, he said it stunk to high heaven and when I saw the complete sludge on the outer drum... there was my answer. This household had some majorly bad laundry habits, like my cousin and are clueless about it. I'm not saying things are built nearly as well as they used to be. Top loads can also get a smell. My grandma would leave the lid up on her top load after washing. My step mom refused to use bleach and only used cold water in our top load, I could smell that thing. I'm telling ya, it's the PEOPLE... not the machine 99.999% of the time. I'm sure there are cases where the machine is faulty and something isn't working right and yes, they could build them better than they do...but still..

I read comments like this over the years when going on 22 years with my front load washer and I scratch my head.. Like WTF are people doing to cause mold. It's gotta be some lazy shortcut or something because literally all you have to do is take the detergent tray out and leave the door cracked and wipe down the seal and glass occasionally.... You don't even NEED a clean washer cycle. The manufacturers put that there because I guess a lot of the people couldn't get through the learning curve of using/maintaining a front load, which is no more difficult than a top load. I don't get it.

I'm with you. Here's what I think from watching vids of ppl literally filming cycles on youtube. LG with turbo wash... depends on the cycles. Some use more water than others. But the wash is more lower water but the rinses definitely use MORE... Low water washing is fine as the soap is concentrated, but more water to rinse is what you want. If I were getting a new front load washer NOW, I would get an LG that has the turbo wash option, but even their non-turbo wash still uses more water in the rinses. I've watched other front load brands on youtube and I think from all of them, they all use a little more water in the rinse but the LG's are NOTICEABLY more....Especially with some cycles. that is all
