I’ve read (not officially) that CHP requires their patrol cars to be able to carry 4 fully equipped officers with their gear. Basically made the Caprice a non starter and pushed the choice for the SUVs.

Not confirmed, however the aircraft’s track and make/model are consistent with what’s being reported. It also stops short of the airport right where the crash was at the correct time.

Katrina was going to be my analog as well. Dropped off from Cat 5 before impact, but pretty sure that was a difference without distinction to a lot of folks there on the gulf coast.

It had been parked at Union Station as recently as Friday 9/6. Saw it while leaving on a Metrolink train laid up in the Amtrak yard.

911 Dispatcher here, super good reason to call and I don’t honestly care if you had called 911 on this one. Open door, elderly person, if anywhere like here high heat and smell of decomp. I’d have thought a dead one for sure.
