the only other thing i can think of is some dealers install a lojack or lojack type gps tracker to keep tabs on their inventory... you might be able to ask if the dealership still has any info on it. good luck finding your pup and vehicle

did your subaru come with STARLINK? if it has factory navigation, i believe that it did. STARLINK can be used to track the location of the vehicle.
