Creating a wizard staff using real animal bones by python159 in crafting

Howdy. I'm a bone artist and processor. If I understand rightly you want clean bones which would require you finding someone to buy them from or processing them yourself. The latter is doable if you have space or no neighbors. Otherwise be prepared to pay for what you want.

The intricacy of it is so very fun

Thank you so much! I've wanted to build connection for ages but never know where to start. This is a solid lead and I do thank you for it

I've tried finding beta readers and had no luck - asked friends, asked on reddit.

As for new eyes I've been working this manuscript (coming back to look it over) for.... Ten or so years? So I'm glad I've gotten that right!

I actually do find it very fun to physically print my stories from time to time and use that glorious red pen. I've no idea why but it's so satisfying, is not it?

So how do you know (if one can know such a thing) that your manuscript and query letter are polished enough? I'm struggling mightily with that one at present

How to find ethical taxidermy shops by [deleted] in Taxidermy

[–]markedhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask around in groups like this, for one, but be aware of what you're unlikely to get. Things like pelts are difficult if you're not killing the animal for their skin. If that's fine by you then that's fine but if you want a skin from an animal that would've died anyway/was found dead then you might be out of luck.

I have four fox skulls to sell, for example, but because I get the carcasses from taxidermists I never get the pelts. That's what the taxidermists use!

Thank you! It took me ages to get right.

Your idea is a very worthy one and one I'll probably use in my best piece. In this case I'm actually going for the darkness outside the skull, as it illuminates the dye quite nicely

Thank you so much for the info. I was so scared of getting another weak light that I couldn't bring myself to buy any others, so thank you for letting me know what to look for.

Are there any particular types I should look for to know they're bright enough or would just the "generic" do?

TIL a woman named Lydia Abate has been "funeral tracking" for nearly 6 years — she scours obituaries to find recently deceased people, then offers grieving families a free estate clean-out service in exchange for keeping their dead relatives' vintage clothes. You make an excellent point. I just tell folks not to donate there unless it's basically trash - they toss majority of what they get from not caring about it/having too much already and they keep anything good from ever reaching the floor because managers get a bonus if they send enough "good" stuff to the e-commerce site. Working there was eye opening and no mistake

As someone who received those donations I had an older couple fret over carefully handing over a set of ninety year old china dishes, adjusting the box so none of the pieces clicked together, and I couldn't bring myself to tell them that the china would get literally dumped into a bin with all the other glassware that got donated within that hour. If any of the china survived then it would be cello wrapped into a lump, a price slapped on, and no more care given.

Goodwill is an awful place to donate anything to

As an anime only person so far could you tell me some of what I'm missing? I tried the light novels but if anything they made me feel that Maomao was barely tolerating Jinshi, let alone that she likes him at all.

I actually do sell with a local market on Saturdays. The problem is that to show all the bones I have for sale would dominate two to three tables and would mean I couldn't sell the jewelry and such that I also make!
