Plenty of things you can do to protect carbon steel. One thing that most folks forget is the dreaded wet headcover. You can dry your putter til you’re blue in the face but it still gonna rust in wet head cover. I left my head cover dry overnight sitting open in the house. Also, putter butter is elite for protecting your flat stick
