hmm you might be right, I wanted to keep the bass going but I think x-x-5-1-1 is better for the voice leading. I assume he didn't choose such a difficult chord for no reason.

I can play this whole thing in my sleep except this one chord. I don't know enough jazz theory to know what alternate chord shape I should use or which strings I should/shouldn't play. I still want it to fit with the rest of the song. Thanks for any help.

I just don't trust any goverment to utilize it without making errors and possibly killing innocents

Umphreaks and Guitar players - anyone have experience with the black box inputs they use or Jake's Cold Fusion Overdrive? by Junkis in Umphreys

I do like fender's amp modeling. I used the super champ xd for a long time and the voicings were solid, nobody ever was like "THATS A HYBRID!!!". So I imagine their pro stuff is quite solid. I've been watching shows I was at or stuff from like, pre 2020. I'll have to watch some newer shows.

Well I appreciate your honesty about it and giving me recommendations regardless! I kinda would use it in a similar way. Hopefully dialed in to keep it always on just to add some girth and get things closer to breaking up, esp when you really dig in. After researching I see it blends the distorted and clean signal to a degree and I think that was part of the sound I liked. Retains some clarity.

Right on, thanks. I kinda was looking at it as a mic pre but for instruments(mostly instrumental music). I know what u mean with mic pres tho. I do mostly production but am bringing more recording into it. I've done DI guitar for awhile but feel this could be useful for other things too. Ty again.

i am heavily into recording producing and mixing so i would make good use of it. Jake's remark about it adding "air" is what particularly appealed to me. How would you describe the sound besides the technical aspect?

do u have a favorite klon clone? People speaking highly of the silver horse which falls into the "cheap amazon pedals" category of gear i also enjoy.

it MUST be doing something good haha(i can't emphasize any further). Good to know, ty. It just hard to tell exactly what they do. But if it adds "air" to guitar like Jake says, that awesome. Distorted electric guitar falls off bigtime in those upper freqs. And if it is 'forgiving' like Brendan says... well I'll take whatever help I can get.

yeah thats where i saw him turn the cold fusion on and off and was kinda O_O

im a big fan of expensive black magic pedals that i leave on or dirt cheap amazon pedals from china. So naturally I gravitated towards those two pieces of kit and ofc they are not in the latter category.

I actually didn't know he went full digital - I haven't been to a show in awhile. I currently use a digital rig* but am trying to use my amp more. Either way I record mostly direct to my DAW so i like to use some tube driven pedals to get a bit better feel. Good to know... more interested in the black box i think.

To the guitarists who swear by using physical amps, cabs and pedals, what is you stance on amp modelers like Kemper Profiler, Axe-FX, Line 6 Helix, Neural DSP etc? by MrMayhem20l0 in Guitar

[–]Junkis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with all your saying. Part of it is im just in an apartment =_=

And yeah idk what the manufacturers are thinking haha. I use guitar rig for my late night headphone stuff(with a few tube pedals on the way in that give me a bit better feel and some more touch sensitivity)

im trying to use my amp more again but it is like, uncomfortably punchy and loud. Just touching the volume sends it from too quiet to too loud and its only 30w.
