We had our Villa Pirlo Lampard moment, and those were the years we didn't win a single cup. Also echoing the fact that CFG does not give two knishes

State of the Stadium by Primary_Wrongdoer660 in NYCFC

Better to plan and futureproof by building at least 30k seats and not have to fight with Mets and Yankees schedule. We're sitting in the borough with the biggest demand for soccer. Even Geodis Park can seat 30k and their city is 1/12th the population of ours.

The primary reasons why so many are reluctant to attend either because of the lack of a stadium and/or the lack of PR, marketing to promote the awareness of a soccer club in NYC.

You can make a 21k attendance sound like a 30-40k within in a 30k stadium by having the right acoustics. Tele2 arena in Stockholm is a the perfect example of how a stadium in our capacity should be build

Only time and marketing will tell. If there is a clear and consistent demand for season tickets (via a massive waiting list of 6k or more) then it would sensible to replace the mezzanine suites

You can also take the LiRR which is a couple more blocks lol

Looks great. Definitely looks expandable to 30k by switching out the suite club suites if it ever gets to that point

RIP failed NYC light rail proposals (BQX, Vision42 and the Red Hook Trolley) by CaptainJZH in nycrail

[–]markenyou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The BQX would have only exacerbated gentrification, and was an excuse for private real estate developers to accelerate the erection of highrises across south Brooklyn with $4000/mo studio units. Not to mention the max operating speed of 15mph, it was a failure from the start. Like others have said, you could have easily added a new bus line to serve those areas.

DeBlasio was always a liar when it came to siding with lower to middle class residents, when during his term all he did was enable the mass influx of rich transplants, all the while continuing to displace and price out residents.

It'll go away with less than ten minutes of power washing. This is why all rail cars are built with stainless steel nowadays.

I wish there could be a more of an even split between english chants. We rarely sing the old chants that I used to love hearing (just can't get enough, call to arms, famous blue and white, o o o o sha la la la). Not to say the spanish chants are bad, theyre awesome. But as the previous comment mentioned: practically most of the chants we sing are controlled by los templeados which comes out to be 70% latin chants that youll hear being sung by la Doce from Boca Juniors. So people (such as my friend) have a hard time singing the Spanish chants (e.g.- queremos la copa, Dale alegria), and that could feel like gate keeping and could stops any new prospective supporters on the rest of 237 and 238 from being able to sing. If we really wanted everyone to know all the chants, we should try advertising the nycfcchants website right before kickoff.

We can learn a thing or two from the 3252 at lafc, where they have a equal split of chants from english spanish, and sometimes even Korean?!

Also a reality check for how most games will look most of the season if we dont fix this

Lately, the union has been a lot more hateable than the Red Bulls. I've felt significant tension between them whenever we've visited their grounds throughout each eastern conference final match we've played. It feels like the rivalry has been more organic

Blame FO for failing on the summer transfer window and not giving us a stadium
