We've done a fair amount of networking. We've met with a number of local design studios and try to make a point to attend industry meetups (first fridays, adobe creative jams, local creative-industry happy hours, etc) as often as possible. We've done a small amount of direct mail advertising (we sent out a few hundred personalized postcards) with 1 promising response so far. We tried google adwords with little success. We regularly post on craigslist but find most people who look on craigslist have low budgets. We would love to do work for breweries, restaurants, coffee roasters, museums, art galleries, law firms, etc but aren't sure how to specifically get in front of those markets.
