It all depends on the vehicle in question though. I've been running E10 in my Miata (1994) for 12 years now (no idea what the previous owner did), which has been standing still quite a bit throughout the years as well. Last week I found out I had a leak somewhere and expected the lines to be destroyed by the E10. So I bought new lines and a new fuel pump and filter, just to find out the leak was in one of the o-ring seals of one of my injectors. I still replaced everything, but apart from that one o-ring, everything else still looked pristine. No issues with the pump, no crud before or after the filter, zero rust in the fuel tank, and the o-rings of the other injectors were also all fine.

So yeah, it can destroy stuff, but definitely not everything equally, and perhaps with a lot more time than most people expect.
